Assuming 4231 / adapted 442, is there not a way where we can benefit from both Burrell's pace as an out ball *and* Kone's strength and striker's instincts in a more advanced 9, out and out striker position For example, out of possession it makes sense to me to have Kone deeper, winning headers, linking play, potentially defending corners etc, with Burrell advanced ready to spring the break. But in phases where we have possession this should rotate, with Kone further forward, roughing up defenders and ready to get in the box to pounce, and for Burrell to be a bit deeper in a 10 role, perhaps wide where he can stretch the defense, and can still use his pace to make up ground and arrive to the box late This is all seems too simple, so presumably I'm being a dummy. | |
