Timeshift - History of British pubs now showing on BBC iplayer for 9 days.
I'll watch in the morn when I've sobered up a bit.

Just watched on iplayer - anyone interested in pubs should watch - it's on for a few more days.

Did you spot the writing on the door window at 10.19 into the vid - 'This is a members and regulars only pub?'

I'll hazard a guess that Romford has an element within its boundaries.

Just watched it and, although it was fine, a history of pubs it wasn't. It only covered about 90 years. Pub history in this country goes back to the Romans!

He made some interesting points but I don’t agree with everything he said.

Wouldn’t say that he was a native east Londoner with that accent.

Doesn’t know how to pronounce Becontree for starters.

Including a sequence shot with Richard Branson outside the Princess Victoria on the Uxbridge Road. He owned it briefly in the mid 1980s.

I think that was also the pub featured in the "Sussudio" video - the shooting of which led Phil Collins to abandon the Rs and follow Spurs (allegedly)
