Im inclined to agree with @kingolaf "I am talking specifically about Baz, THB, Stephens and Manning."
There is a balance to be saught and although Stephens didnt really make any massive mistatkes his being in the backline just slowed us down far too much. Baz and Manning had done well the epreviuos 4 games and the big revelation was how quickly we moved the ball through midfield to Arma and his balls down the channels. Quarshie is less confident with the ball at his feet and so he makes more safty first type decisions and people seemed more switched on to make themselves available for him. Its a similar scenario when deciding McCarthy or Baz. McCarthy (and everyone around him) knows his short passing is an accident waiting to happen so he goes long far more often. Of the two I preffer playing Bazunu but I dont think he can play in the same deffence as Stephens. |

We can surely get better more rliable keepers on a free! Baz is still very young and experienced for his age but niether he or McCarthy give the fans or the defence any sence of assurance. Bazunu makes the more obvious errors becuase he generally comes out for more. McCarthey rarely leves his 6 yard box, apears to make good stops but they generaly end up at an attackers feet. I understand why people rate McCarthy more but he is frequently beaten at his near post and his starting possition seems to be getting worse.
We need an experienced keeper thats maybe willing to step down a level to get games. Someone, hopefullly Baz could learn from.
@Centurion: Its difficult to say if we would have beaten Leeds with Bazunu in goal. I though the biggest difference it made was it forced Martin to set the team up to be more direct and defend the box better. This wasnt because of McCarthys strenghts more becuase he was crap with his feet. Leeds had 2 shots on target that game, we beat Leeds 3 times Bazunu was in goal once, The game Bazunu played we won 3-1 and they had 5 shots on target. Just rewatched the highlights, thier goal was a clasic bobble through a crowd of players keeper seeing it late. A Armstrong was like watching a completly different player! |

I do understand what Alfie is talking about with Shea Charles. Its not specificaly him. We seem to buy young players with potential that only start to give a real return in the pitch in the penultimate season of thier ocntrac and then are sold on. It effects the stability of the club more than anything and it feels like we are trying to build on sand. im not naive enough to thik we can hold on to talent forever but we need to do a better job of tying players down when its obvious they have actual quality. How can we build team spirit if the players change every year,
@Bowlercow Parrot would be a great signing but he is at AZ who play Europa football. We might have been able to tempt him if we were nailed on fo promotion but he wont move until the summer at least. By which time he will haveplayed in the WC. Shame though |

Why should WS be getting advice from Lallana? Its his first season as a coach. Come to think of it why is he even sat on the bench. Saints need to show some ambition and get a Manager in who Tonda would be happy to support as number 2 otherwise we will be in a situaltion where we bring some random in and he decideds to leave as well.He seems to have potential but I cant see how he would command any more respect than WS |

There is simply no point in sacking him. Will a new manager get Adam Armstrong to score 1 0n 1s . Will a new manager turn McCarthy into a championship level keeper? All fans wanted a more adventerous style of play Still has delivered that and bags of oportunities to score the problems we have ad for the last 5/6 years is that we dont have a decent striker .
Yes his decision to bring Stephens on was awful, but wasnt that was really despeation to try and hold on to a 1 goal lead with Armstrong already having failed to score with 2x 1 0n 1s
Aribo doesnt want to be here neither does Edozie. They were both 4.5 hrs away settling in to an afternoon of sky sports when Downes and Fellows reported in sick. The emergency replacement was 2.5hrs away and only just made it.
Once again I feel the fans have been let down by recruitement. McCarthy and Stephens both given new contracts when we were crying out for a decent striker and Number 1. Terrible sentimental squad managenment. |

Our first 11are very young, especially the defense and thier confidence was shot once again. McCarthy cant fill them with confidence either he doesnt comand his box at all. Up front we are desperate for options. Yes we have bought creatice midfielders but over all out recuitment has left us asking too much from a obviously talented but novice manager. Sacking still is not the answer, can he really be blamed for loaning out our only decent keeper and Downes being simply not up to scratch? |

I think we will get a result away from home. Manning will come in for Wellington and score a feee kick and maybe we will get another on the break 0-2. I personaly though Swansea was our best game, McCarthy looked a lot more comfortble and I think he needs 3 in front of him as he doesnt come for much. Defensivly we didnt look at all troubled and we created enough chancesbe just need a wind change and some momentum. xG 3.2! |

Its unthathomable that we started the season without signing a half decent striker and a decent keeper.
Id Still had faith in Downs he would have made a straight swap when Stuart came off.
McCarthy made some great saves but he doesnt comand his area at all. We are back to being a mess at the back with him stood on his line. Every cross makes me nervous I dont know how the defenders must feel. |

This has been the issue since before Ralf left. We buy players like tey are stock. If we believe they are under valued we seem to buy them regardless of what we already have. Players often have a good game and are dropped. It will be interesting to see if Stuart plays tomorrow |

We need to be balance and we need to play to what strenght we have. The club is being disrespected mercilessly by Premier League Clubs and the media. Yes we need to thin the squad to reduce wages, but is this really the sum of our ambition to sell all our PL quality players , buy Championship ones, get promoted play as a Championship team in the PL get under 20 points then recycle. iTs not sustainable our bloated squad of PL failures is testmient to that.
Personaly i'd take the 40 million proft on dibbling and wait till January defore doing anything else. We will either be close to promotion and able to attract better players or cut adrift but in a better possition to move matty o to a team thats pushing for Europe |

Googled who is agent is and its ROOF, They are basically a nameless agency. Seems to be dancing closly to 3rd party ownership if they have the power to overule the player and his familiy. They must have a serious contract with him. Their website reads like they are deveoping players . Their promo video talks about how everyone is a team. Its bazare and its where the moeny in football is going. |
