 | News Comment | QPR hand O’Neill perfect start as Blackburn boss – Report at 21:25:44
I've always said that l can take a defeat as long as the players have played well and given it their all, a bit like they did against West Ham for example. That wasn't so on Saturday. Sunday league defending for all three goals and very little service for our forwards. Stephan standing on the touchline gesturing frantically but communicating God knows what ( I was one of those in the SA stand upper!). And we play at a pace that falls between quick walking and jogging - even at 1-3 down WE were playing like the team that was ahead, not one trying to get back on terms. It's truly bizarre that despite all this (and all the other dropped points) we are only 4 points off a playoff spot. That maybe so but we are light years away from Premier League quality. I'm not in the Stephan out camp but even when we had a fit squad he often struggled to pick his best 11. Maybe the experience of this season will help him next season but the football is average and we just don't create enough goal scoring chances. I'm just glad we amassed a lot of points earlier in the season. |
 | News Comment | And we never spoke of it again – Report at 09:38:44
Considering we are honouring the memory of the Team of 75/6 this season (who l was fortunate enough to see on several occasions) l thought the way we played on Saturday was an affront to football and certainly to that team. Admittedly they never won all their away games but they did try to win them. What l hadn't appreciated beforehand was that Stoke's squad was almost as depleted as ours. Hard won point or not you just can't defend a performance like that. |
 | News Comment | QPR trounced in final home game as Burnley run riot - Report at 21:51:40
I agree with your comments about Burnley. Their pace of play, one and two touch football, very few wasted passes and cutting through our defence as if it wasn't there really was a joy to behold. Mainly (and sadly) because it reminded me of how we used to play many years ago and l do feel blessed to have been around to see it. |
