Big thanks to Arthur Read for ensuring I got maximum points. Predicting the U's this season is still proving to be something of a lottery. If you get the result 50% of the time you're doing well let alone the score.
Nice one Daniel. They needed to be Gulls not Gills to have their wings clipped. Was a tough one to be fair. I thought maybe something to do with being jilted or fish gills but neither really work.
Good call on the Joe Dunne flag, he always gave everything he could for this club in whatever role he was in.
I was at the 1-0 defeat which turned out to be Etherington's last game in charge. Was possibly the worst atmosphere I've ever experienced at a Col U home game. It was toxic from the start and was a pretty horrible experience.

As TheOldOakTree is now unable to do the Salford preview it's up for grabs if anyone fancies giving it a crack. Will be Danny's 100th game in charge providing our next two games go ahead as planned.

Funny I was only thinking on Saturday I wonder what happened to Shamal George. Looks like his move to Wycombe wasn't a great one if he now finds himself back in Scotland.
A friend of mine has just told me that Anderson got a touch on the initial shot from Iandolo which led to Goodwin being offside and the discussion between the referee and the linesman was one confirming to the other that Anderson had touched it. If this is all true then it's really good officiating in my opinion. Credit where credit is due.
Not the best of vlogs but it does show Flanagan getting injured, which looks really unfortunate, and a view of the disallowed goal which to me looks like Goodwin might actually have been just onside. Obviously a very tight decision though and a difficult one for the officials.

Well done on your 91.5 Toot, quite the achievement. Well done to everyone else on their impressive totals. I've barely ever been away with Col U and I reckon my count might not even make double figures and one of them is bloody Crawley! I've also lost Upton Park and Yeovil's and Rushden's grounds from my short list.

After last Saturday’s defeat against the Bromley bullies and Tuesday’s comfortable victory against Fulham kindergarten we now have a trip to Walsall to face the current League Two leaders.
I’m not sure we could have a much tougher game right now, maybe Notts County away and that’s to come next week, but Walsall have had a little wobble with a draw against Crawley followed by defeats against Barrow and Cheltenham. They have won their last two games though including a comfortable FA Cup win at Eastleigh and a 4-2 win on the road at lowly Newport County.
With Mbick away on England U20 duty I’m expecting the U’s to line up as follows:
Macey
Vincent Young Tucker Araujo Iandolo
Bishop Read
Lisbie Williams Anderson
Goodwin
Subs
Smith Hunt Tovide Flanagan Oni Powell Edwards (Gordon if Edwards unfit)
I think Goodwin will get the nod over Tovide despite the latter’s sublime finish against Fulham U21’s in the week. The number 10 is a difficult position for us to fill when Payne isn’t available and we definitely didn’t get it right with Mbick playing there against Bromley. I think Cowley trusts Williams in that position more than anyone else right now although personally I’d prefer Read or Bishop in there with either Oni or Harvey coming into midfield. I wouldn’t be against playing Tucker in midfield either and having Flanagan drop in alongside Araujo. Tucker has been on the whole very good this season though and probably one of our most consistent performers so I’d be surprised if that’s even something that’s being considered.
According to the BBC in 39 previous meetings it’s 14 wins to both the U’s and the Saddlers with 11 draws. We haven’t won at Walsall in seven games since a 1-0 win in May 2014 but we did win the last meeting between the two teams with Edwards scoring a brilliant second half winner after we’d gone behind just nine minutes earlier.
The weather is set to be wet and cool at the Bescot tomorrow with a maximum temperature of just nine degrees and in the spirit of Durham I’m predicting a 3-1 win for the U’s with Lisbie, Anderson and Goodwin getting the goals.
