Elding off to Plymouth
Elding off to Plymouth

Anthony Elding will feature in Plymouth's friendly on Friday night as a trialist with a view to a permanent transfer.

Elding has been very much the forgotten man at Spotland since early in the 2010-11 season. Coming to the club from Hungarian football, he found himself very much a victim of the club's switch to the 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 formations of last season.

He was loaned out to Stockport County last season, but could do little to prevent their relegation and the financial implications of their relegation effectively ruled out any chance of that switch being made permanent.

If Elding signs for Plymouth, he will ironically replace another former Dale striker after Liam Dickinson left the Pilgrims just a few days after joining them, after the cash strapped club's wages were delayed again.
