![]() Sunday, 7th Aug 2011 15:44 by TWTD.co.uk Town defender Damien Delaney has been withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad for their friendly against Croatia in Dublin on Wednesday due to the ankle injury he suffered in Saturday's 3-0 win at Bristol City. The 30-year-old appeared to turn his ankle just before half-time but carried on until the 63rd minute when he was replaced by Tommy Smith, who looks set to start Tuesday's Carling Cup against Northampton at Portman Road. Town will also be without David Stockdale, who has been called up by England, Tamas Priskin, who will be with Hungary, and Josh Carson, who will be in action for the Northern Irish U21s for the Cobblers game.
