Smith Still at Portman Road Wednesday, 11th Jul 2012 10:13 by TWTD.co.uk Central defender Tommy Smith is still to join up with the New Zealand OIy Whites having remained at Portman Road due to a minor hamstring injury. The 22-year-old was due to meet up with his international team-mates ahead of their pre-Olympic friendlies on Monday. Smith misses tonight’s game against Japan’s U23s in Tokyo with New Zealand Football expecting him to join up with the squad for the match against South Korea’s U23s in Seoul on Saturday and the UAE’s U23s (TBC, July 19th), although the injury may also impact on his involvement in those fixtures. New Zealand’s Olympics schedule sees them play Belarus at Coventry's Ricoh Arena on July 26th, Egypt at Old Trafford three days later and Brazil at St James' Park, Newcastle on August 1st.
