Dale v Shrews: help needed Friday, 18th Dec 2009 17:57 The club remain confident that Saturday's fixture against Shrewsbury will go ahead, but have appealed to supporters to head to Spotland on Saturday morning to clear the snow off the pitch. As things stand, the game is playable. The frost covers have been placed on the pitch, and checks on Friday have indicated that the pitch is fine underneath the covers. Indeed, the layer of snow which fell in the Rochdale area on Thursday evening / Friday evening has improved the chances of the game going ahead, as the snow is acting as another protective layer on top of the covers. But that layer of snow does present a problem in terms of getting the game ready for Saturday. Supporters are needed to head to Spotland early on Saturday to clear the snow off, before the covers can be removed. To help with the efforts, fans are asked to bring spades, shovels and wheelbarrows. Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
