Leon Britton is expected to sign for Wigan Athletic next week according to the Wigan Evening Post

The Swansea City midfielder looks as if he will depart the club on a free transfer to join up with his former midfield partner and manager at Premier League Wigan Athletic.

Speculation has been ongoing ever since last summer when Roberto first departed for Wigan and has reached fever pitch in recent weeks especially with Leon's refusal to sign the contract offered to him by the club.

And now the local paper - albeit with a footnote - has predicted that he will sign for the Latics upon his return from holiday.

Interestingly, in the same article the paper says that there is no future for Jason Koumas at the DW Stadium with Wigan Chairman - Dave Whelan saying “I don’t think Jason Koumas has a future at Wigan Athletic.

“He’s never in the first team, so if he wants to further his career he’ll probably have to move on.

“All footballers want to play first-team football, and Jason only played a few games last year.

“Roberto left him out for the last three or four months, so it’s probably in his interests to move to another club.
