Former QPR left back Ian Baraclough is the special guest on this week’s podcast talking about his time at Loftus Road and his current managerial role at Sligo Rovers.

Baraclough made 138 appearances for Rangers over three years from 1998 to 2001 but unfortunately ended his time at the club with a relegation when the R’s dropped into the third tier.

Speaking to regular panellists Paul Finney, David Fraser, Chris Charles and guest Gemma Fumagalli, Baraclough recalled that season and compared it to QPR’s current tribulations in the Premier League.

He said: “At the time the club was going through financial difficulties. Relegated from the Premier League they gambled with their money and ended up going into administration. A load of us had to leave which was a wrench at the time because it was one of the best times in my career.

“There were a lot of players that did care, I know when teams are relegated or struggling the first thing supporters think is players think of themselves and not the club but there were a lot of players there that did care about it. We were desperately fighting to keep the club up but it wasn’t to be.”
