It'll be like the late 80's again next season as the matchday programme will once again feature Cannon on the front cover. Thankfully rather than the erstwhile Chairman and alleged funnyman Tommy, it will be another of Hill's young starlets Andy.

It was only earlier this month that his contract was extended by twelve months after triggering an appearance clause in his contract, but that was not enough and that contract has been replaced by a new two year deal keeping him at Spotland until the Summer of 2017.

Cannon was one of the stars of the second half of the season, with a string of fine performances at right back, with the odd cameo in midfield.
