Saints V Vitesse The Preview Thursday, 6th Aug 2015 09:07 Saints need to make sure that they do not let Vitesse get a glimmer of hope in tonight second leg tie. It could be said that Saints fans fall into two categories, the older set who are used to seeing good leads thrown away on a regular basis and a newer set who are not used to Saints being anything other than tight. That being the case whoever scores the first goal in the game at the Gelredome this evening is going to take the tie by the scruff of the neck and determine its direction. Vitesse need to get an early goal and put Saints under pressure, whilst if we can score it, it will mean the Dutch side have to put five past us to win the tie. So for Saints it is going to be a case of keeping it tight and forcing Vitesse to throw caution to the wind so that we can catch them on the break, all the emphasis is going to be on the Dutch side to get themselves back in the game and to do that they are going to have to take risks. Ronald Koeman will hope that Saints put this tie to bed so he can make a few changes to rest players for Saturday and give the likes of JWP a run out. For the older set it will be a case of nerves being settled, whilst the younger ones can see nothing bar total victory. Times are different at Southampton Football Club these days, but they are different because we work hard and do not forget that, both older and younger fans know that.
