An American Saints supporter has traveled around 11,000 miles and spent £1,100 in just a couple of days, all in the cause of watching Southampton Football Club for the first time.

An unidentified Saints fan residing in California approximately 4,500 miles from Southampton has revealed on the internet that he has come over to England to attend his first ever Saints game.

He also revealed that due to his job he could only get the weekend off so it had to be a quickfire trip.

The supporter who goes by the name of chibles1 on Reddit posted the following

'Travelled from California to watch my first Saints game, great result for the team! The atmosphere in the stadium is amazing. I've never experienced anything like that with an MLS match."

(When asked what else he'd be doing in Southampton)

'I'll be catching a flight back to the US tomorrow so I can be back for classes on Monday, I could only get 2 days off unfortunately! "

"I've had this trip planned for a while and have been saving up for it for a long time. I don't regret it at all! It was a lot more fun than watching it on my television!"

"A flight from SFO to Heathrow (one layover in Dublin) cost ~$1100 and a hotel for 2 night was roughly $200. Train tickets (including the return trip tomorrow) cost $100. The whole trip was approximately $1500."

At a current exchange rates it must have cost him well over £1200 for flights hotels etc to go to the game, more than most season ticket holders at St Mary's will spend in a season to see all 19 Premier League games.

So who is this Masked Man, well assuming it isn't the Lone Ranger and no one saw Arnold Schwarzenegger at the game, who is chibles1 ?
