Southampton Defender Set To Miss The Rest Of The Season Friday, 13th Feb 2026 16:58 Saints fans might not be too disappointed to learn that Mads Roerslev is the man who is set to undergo surgery that will keep him out for several months, if only because he has barely played this season due to injury. The Daily Echo has reported that Mads Roerslev will have surgery on his achilles tendon, an issue that has been bothering him for a large part of the season. The 26 year old Danish International only joined the club last summer from Brentford when he signed a 4 year contract for a fee of around £3 million. After joining he initially played a big part in the games under Will Still, starting 5, coming on as a sub in 4 and being on the bench for 10 of the first 13 games he could have played in, but although he came on as a sub in the first two games of Tonda Eckert's reign, he has not featured since early November due to his injury. Now he is set to go under the knife and it is likely to mean he will miss the rest of the season.
