It would seem that the Poet Laureate of Rochdale that is Keith Hill has become the most quoted man in the media over the last few days. Here are a few of his highlights:

Speaking to the MEN, he said: "It was great to celebrate with the family that is Rochdale. There is a family feel to everything that we do, but I also have to say that we are ruthless with our mentality when it comes to football matches.

"To be honest, my birthday never really came into my thoughts. It's always business first and pleasure second, but if you can combine the two it is superb.

"Whatever mountain is put in front of my players they climb it. There is a real value and enjoyment in what we do."

Hill in the Independent: "We've brought young, hungry players in who wanted to be given an opportunity in the Football League. It's not been a question on changing their attitudes - we've had to change the mentality of the town and the people around the football club.

"You hear, 'same old Rochdale, falling at the final hurdle, never achieved anything except League Two status. I'm sick of hearing it and it is difficult to change the mindset of some of the supporters, I must admit.

"But they're all believing now. The majority of the crowd probably came for the first time today but hopefully they'll come back for Wembley.

"The only good thing about going to Wembley is winning and that's what we've got to do.

"We know how to win and we've got an appetite for it. If we keep knocking on the door then nobody will knock us back and that's the mentality we've all got."

And in the Times: “I’m sick and tired of people talking about our history, that we have been in the bottom division longer than anybody else. Rochdale have been billed as the whipping boys of the league for too long, so it’s great to be going to Wembley.

“We shouldn’t be looked upon as a small club because we have big plans for the future and it’s really exciting. The players have made history by taking us to Wembley and it’s in their hands to make some more by getting promoted next Monday.”

And in the Guardian: Hilly quipped: "I'm going to leave my party until after the play-off final but, if I was 29, I'd be out on the lash like everyone else!"
