We're gonna win 5-4... 11:17 - Jan 21 with 1242 viewsD_Alien

Doesn't make up for losing the Ashes, but credit where it's due...

England's ODI performances have been outstanding, series taken 3-0 and the Barmy Army at last given something to cheer about

"We're gonna win 5-4..."

Need to convert that into a World Cup success

Makes you wonder why one or two of them weren't playing in the Tests.

That thought crossed my mind too

Players like Alex Hayles (recent off-field events apart) have been tried in tests and have averages no worse than Stoneman or Vince. Jason Roy deserves a chance too; if these type of batsmen come off it can be a game-changer in any format

With the bowlers it's a bit different. If Wood had been fit for the five-day games he'd have made a difference, fitness being more of a factor especially in the heat

Then there's Jos Butler, a world class performer who was discarded too readily but may be happier being allowed to play his natural game in limited formats

Not forgetting the Aussie opener Aaron Finch who can't have done any worse than Bancroft but it'd mean two aggressive openers
