| Blackburn Reflection 17:41 - Feb 14 with 17645 views | bluenwhite10 | A really bad performance against a really poor side. Started well and played some lovely football for the 1st 10-15 mins, maybe overplayed a bit for the perfect goal, but unfortunately it is a 90mins games and the rest was poor. All the goals came from mistakes and poor goals to let in. Saito, Dunne, very poor, with Bennie looking maybe unfairly out of his depth, but the injury crisis dictates the options and the line up and the changes as the bench looked weak today. Ending up with a midfield 4 of Vale, Smyth, Morgan, Saito is not going to win you games but it is what it is. Surprised Stephen did not change it earlier, by bringing in Kolli earlier and go for 2 up to top. Smyth needs to stop giving away cheap fouls. Another strange one today was against Coventry when they had a corner we kept 3 up, but when we went 3-1 down we brought everybody back which baffled me a bit In summary poor performance and a missed opportunity to push for the play offs against a really poor side. Hope Madsen injury is not serious as that will be a massive miss as most good things go through him. MOM …can’t honestly pick one. Up the R’s | | | | |

| Blackburn Reflection on 08:43 - Feb 17 by Rsole | Indeed - I guess if you don’t work Saturdays you can’t change anything in the game, which we probably should have done earlier this weekend. At one point preseason, Nourry spent the majority of the game that he attended, just talking 121 with Bould on the sidelines. It was notable in duration and the isolation from the other coaching staff. Then as you say, the ‘master class’ - can’t remember if that was that before or after the 7:1 Cov debacle but suspect it was before. He probably values his views and experience but you can’t have someone like that in the mix, just stalking the head coach but not being available to help adapt in a game. All the money and flexibility, no responsibility ultimately. Bould should have been interviewed post Saturday’s game - if he’s really doing the job. The goals were down to us being wide open or leaving a massive gap between two CDs. |
I think the 'don't work Saturdays' thing was an unfortunate misspeak. Certainly in the early home games Bould was sitting at the back of SARS with the video analytics guys.

If Bould isn't working Saturdays and therefore not attending on match days, that feels like a bit of an error.

There’s an obvious follow up question then, Mart :-) ! If he’s there each game and sitting with people doing analysis and can see what we saw - why continue to leave it as-is, with this weekend a prime example. Even it was addressed at half time, it would had been an improvement. Perhaps someone from the club could also officially correct what was said previously about not working on Saturdays, especially if it was made as a throw away comment. And yes, I agree - train everyone to stick their hand up regardless !!! Practice it very day until muscle memory kicks in ! (Matt for Mart, sorry mate / I know that’s annoying). I think the comment goes back to the fan's forum where they said he wouldn't be in the dugout on Saturdays, i.e. pitchside with Stephan as a traditional assistant, and it got skewed as he wouldn't be there at all, when in fact he is.

So they could have just explained that clearly in the first place and avoided all the confusion! Or does that count as telling us too much!? It's all a bit silly and unnecessary.

I think you are right. pitchside or in the dugout means something. I think Bould was being very careful to say he's not a part of the matchday staff, so doesn't get to sit there. Not that he won't go to the games, or work from Dubai | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Well, we do have a tendency to get a bit Life of Brian around here when an off the cuff remark morphs into an endlessly incanted article of faith.

When you say ‘we’, Kensal, are you referring to Queens Park Rangers or the Rangers of Queens Park?

I think this is one part of the game we actually excel in to be fair Every goal we let in the whole defense and keeper immediatly raise their arms and stare across at the linesman/woman to protest knowing well there is no osffside . Smyth, Kone, Dembele ,Saito and others are also excellent at this skill with zero success of course. We were rock solid (Wrexham implosion excluded) until Saturday its the way things go

Too risky. With our injury record, the hole back four (yes) would be out with tennis elbow. [Post edited 18 Feb 2:07]

As long as that level of performance is not maintained in the next three and we up our game and in particular in defence, all is well. A weakened squad where not one player performed. Bounce back Rangers please. Have avoided this messageboard the last few days, because the stench of negativity and anger in particular towards Nourry was out of context and not great to read, if you wanted to have a nice day. Was a dreadful game. Lets not dwell there for too long, i hope !! [Post edited 18 Feb 2:24]

As someone else has already said, you are reading the Nourry thread and attaching it to the Blackburn game thread. There is a bit of crossover but they are for the most part 2 different things .
