tomorrow can't come quick enough
at 11:10 5 May 2024

If this is true they should start next season behind closed doors for the first 6 home games.

Just why do they think they are above rules and regulations.

Time the NWCL showed some balls and impose a stadium ban and deduct more points bury start next season on -10.

Fan Survey on playing style (n/t)
at 15:53 26 Apr 2024

There are small signs that when we play the Jim Style with a little more urgency and pace it can be difficult to play against.

Whilst not laying a glove at home v 3 relegated teams Dorking / Oxford and Boreham Wood I think we looked the better team against all 3. It is very frustrating therefore that we only mustered 3 draws.

Winning games buys time for managers and with a decent retained list, some good additions to the squad and a quicker tempo of Jim's style might get us all back on board.

Looking at the goal of the season reel quite a few goals had to fast forward several passages of play pre goal as we scored quite a few after 20+ passes.

Its when it goes wrong or the extra sideways pass when the crowd are frustrated that is the problem.

We have Jim starting next season and he will be recruiting this summer so I don't think we have much choice other than to dig deep, buy a season card and turn up to cheer OUR team on. It can be a frustrating watch i agree but in a tricky first full season we finished 11th so lets build on that.

The most important summer for a very long time.

Jim I wish you the very best of luck and hope you can pull some pacey attacking rabbits from the hat.

Whilst true, the smoke and mirrors of 16 wins this season as the best in 7 years (Social media not Jim) shouting like this is a success, the reality is 16 wins is bang average.

Next season we should have much more ambition what's wrong with targeting 25 wins or more from 46.

Chesterfield had 31 wins last season that is the same as Rochdale and Oldham combined.

EEL is on league wages he would have to take a significant pay cut.

Has been very good the last 6-8 games... yes earlier in the season looked out of form and not 100% fit.

If he can fit into the new budget and give us 40 games like the last 6-8 then absolutely another season would give us some continuity at the back.

Its a new dawn, I am hoping Jim is pretty ruthless with the cull and then we recruit well to have a real go at the National League 2024/5.

Well said.

Its a second chance that i did not think would be possible. We were VERY close to not seeing out this season.

Its up to everybody now involved at the club and all the supporters to come together like never before to ensure we only move forward and go from strength to strength.

Up the Dale.... When are the season cards on sale????

The commercial director signing could be the most important of the summer. The right one will not be cheap but could be the best signing made in a long time. Commercially we need to be 2024/25 ready just as much as on the field. The right person needs to be a ruthless type who lives and breathes success always moving the club forward.

Onto Jim.

Nice Fella, Dale through and through and he stepped up in our hour of need. We cant have death by a thousand cuts on the pitch next season this is the most boring negative insipid football i have seen at Dale since the bad days of the mid 80,s.

I am sorry Jim whilst i agree we dominated (a poor opposition) last night we dominated possession only using negative boring style of football and never looked like winning. If this is allowed to carry on next season will see the exodus continue. Somebody needs to sit Jim down and ask him has he another plan on how to play quicker more attractive football that will actually excite the dwindling few who attend. Its dire make no mistake and that is from somebody who likes Jim, appreciates what he has done and more than anything wants him to succeed.

The last two home games against relegation fodder we managed 1 point and 1 goal in 180 minutes of football. Two home games when we were safe and it would have been a free hit to take some risks, get on the front foot and see if a faster / simpler more direct style got a different result!

what a mess to unravel... Huge decisons to be made.

Jim - FFS have a go on the front foot on Saturday!!!

Agreed and we all need to get behind the club and persuade any friends who are not sure to join the new look Dale in 2024/25 season.

Every Penny (Season Cards / Club Shop) in the summer months will help.

Jim McNulty is a terrific bloke who was dealt a terrible hand this season.

Great we stayed up but with a more positive approach we would be on the cusp of the playoffs I am sure.

The pedestrian football is dreadful to watch. We allow teams to get back set up two banks of defenders and then try and tippy Tappy through over playing and overcomplicated tactics. What is wrong with a speedy distribution to a wide player overlapping full backs, early whipped crosses attacked at pace and getting shots off galore!!! It would not take much to go for it next year but if Jim wants to keep this style up the board must act.

Agree we cannot waste another close season we need to be out of the traps game one minute one.

Club Appeal Red Card..
at 14:22 8 Apr 2024

I am sure nobody was more delighted than DAlien when the card got overturned.

I agree with his sentiment that it was risking £500 that only days previously we did not have.

On in all it worked.. Mitchell can play out the remainder of the season bar injury or another red!!

Lets get together now and channel all our might into making Spotland financially secure off the pitch for many years to come. The second chance has come out of the blue and really does allow the root and branch investigation into all things club related.

Yes we have made some recent mistakes. Onwards and upwards for the Dale!

Club Appeal Red Card..

Off the pitch stability will lead to on the pitch success.

Absolutley right here is a 3 point plan. Who delivers the plan has a big job to do.

1. Generate more revenue through increased attendances.

2. Generate more revenue with some well thought out initiatives 12 months of the year.

3. Take the money thats generated over a 12 month period and ensure all outgoings are less.

League 1 clubs interested in Rodney
at 13:25 4 Apr 2024

Rodney wage expectation will (i suspect) see him leave this summer.

Regardless of new investor the first job is to balance the books and have players who stay earning National league wages (Inside a budget so we address the weekly losses).

Out of the blue we have a second chance to sort this... lets not mess it up.

Not a red in my eyes but that is the problem, Strong challenges are frowned upon in what is fast becoming a minimal contact sport.

I can see why he went its a sad (ish) indictment of what Mens football has become.

Building for next season
at 16:40 28 Mar 2024

From Below i would keep Clayton if fit and Rodney and Sinclair if they accepted wages inside what will be a new budget and considerably less money.

Only two others Keohane and Gordon to be offered new deals.

The club needs a shake up off and on the pitch lets have a summer bringing in quite a few new faces and see where we go from there.

Hendo is a debate on his own... If he can be found a role as player / striker coach and is generally a positive influence then that would be a huge decision for Big Jim.

Adam Clayton
Brad Kelly (not sure if he has an option of another year)
Devante Rodney
Cameron John
Ethan Ebanks-Landell
Ian Henderson
Jimmy Keohane
Kyron Gordon
Max Taylor
Tyrese Sinclair
Michael Afuye (option for another year)

Interesting new venture all be it private (Good luck to the owner).

Excellent that they will have designated community days and absolutely its the type of thing Dale should be prepared to help with if it raises the profile of the town.

A promotion winning Dale side is obviously something we all want to see, but away from Spotland just how does the club broaden its ties with all the Rochdale community?.

I hope the days of two year deals on big wages for very average players is well and truly behind Dale..

We offload all the league style wages contracts in June so I hope to god the club has learned a valuable lesson. The awarding of some contracts very nearly saw the end of the football club.

We should not make the same mistake twice!.

On the note of sustainability of course its down to everybody to spread the word and attend as many of the final 3 home games as possible. The club needs to get the ball rolling now with an attractive 2024/25 season ticket offer and the marketing department going into overdrive. (I know we don't curretly have one but we do need a really good one!!).
