Thank feck for that, a brilliant solid announcement, we've reached the light, great news , an update that puts us on a path for growth. The Ogdens provide the potential and club management can hopefully build something that benefits the town, improves the facilities and hopefully gives the fans something to cheer on Saturday. Under the guidance of experienced business owners.
I'm extra glad for those who've stuck by the club and gave their time working for free, throughout these turbulent years.
Behind the scenes its great, but I really do hope though the same enthusiasm and ambitions rubs off on the players and coach. This patient play stuff is dire, especially when we are chasing games or the style is not working. I'm not bothered when 2 nil up. But patient play with sometimes lacklustre players, when losing, it becomes an 11 on on the frustration scale.

Just a thought around targeting Dale ticket sales at groups of people and reaching out to bring in money from pools of fans, mates, work, clubs who might want to make a day of it.
Could be worth it during times when Dale are playing great or....even just have it as an option on the ticketing sales page on the club website.
I've seen clubs abroad that have this option, and maybe its something to explore. Offer a big discount to groups of fans who are 5, 10 , or 15 etc in number.

Decent enough game, i quite enjoyed. We certainly took the game to them and played with a quicker tempo than in previous weeks. The amount of shots we get blocked was high, we're getting chances around their box but wasting far too many.. |

I'm not feeling it today. The buoyancy the players may feel, guaranteed pay for another month, new owners possibly, panics off, the players relax. No Hayes (probably) possibly... go back to the pace of a steady stroll round Watergrove rez.
I would take a draw especially after the tonking Gateshead gave Hartlepool last game. |

Stuff id not thought about. Makes perfect sense and gives an insight how a strategy for getting the non footballing public at least talking about Dale. With a good product and winning runs on the pitch it's a great chance to tantalise those with that Dale connection via hub, to come on game day, buy a pie and watch some riveting playing it round the back stylee |

I welcome more community initiatives to bring the Rochdale people together, from all walks of life, talking about football and Dale's triumphs and woes.
This branching out to the community via schools, gyms, business etc. bringing in a real mix of people into the club. Different types from all backgrounds, posh farts, housewives, scally kids on weed, retired gammons, well behaved 6th formers, surfers. All sharing the same space. Bit of toleration needed to endure fruity language when doing sh1te, but all sharing the Joy when its a good win for 90 mins plus extra time with a totally random group, I think its good to leave your social comfort zone. Maybe get to learn more about other folk. Hopefully the new owners have some great ideas to attract more people to the the Dale role as a community hub. |

Reckon he's a sensitive soul and maybe still a bit p1ssed with sections of the fans he lost, when tactics playing at the back under pressure; cost us goals. The boo-boys on social media were out in force when he praised the fans for their dogged support.
I noticed he changed dugouts a few games back, Hilly did the same to avoid the noise of snipers behind him. |

The constant stream of sledging and ruthless retribution to the extent , its on a par with some Korean revenge flick. A bloody minded mission to take down the enemy and the whole club with it. 'old boy' was great though and 'The man from Nowhere' are classics. |

Great that your having a think about it as I reckon a nice set up with a digital scoreboard and good lighting won't cost too much.and if it takes off, then another one could be purchased. Not fussed about watching it though. I dont think its just an older persons game. think with the young luke litler explosion on the PDC scene, raising the profile of the game it could enthuse more youth to pick up the game and go local for a game and a few beers. I was in a pub on halifax Road last friday and there was a group of 20 somethings all firing at treble 20's.enjoying themselves. |

Abit off topic but I've a question
Its a very popular pastime, and for those that follow the PDC, does the Ratcliffe have Dartboards installed for the oche guys. And if not why not ?
It's potential as a venue go to mid week for a few dart sessions. Working class activity. Good money earner in beer/drinks for those that like to throw th'arrows. Cheap to set up. [Post edited 9 Mar 2:09]

I'm still riding with the good vibes from the meeting, In my opinion its the right decision to go with WSH, when the alternative, stated time, and time again that we will have unpaid players at the end of the month.
I don't believe SG has manufactured the urgency, I believe the threat is real. I've no reason to feel I'm being lied to, no reason to feel Judd and the trust are being hoodwinked and have been a bit gormless in their examination of WSH.
Dale is about to become part of the trend of USA investors in football who have had the thumbs up after background checks, Its now a great opportunity to breathe some life into Dale. The alternative - liquidation and down the football ladder we go. I get some fans fear the unknown, distrust of the clubs hierarchy through stubbornness maybe because of personality clashes with SG on some odd crusade. Outside Investment our most hopeful option. No guarantees, but we have to take the plunge sometime and get help to continue the club and improve its infrastructure and commercial. As everyone knows we don't have a multi millionaire fan - to look after us.
Lets get this sold and take the gamble.
More interest could come in but we've waited and waited for a long time for a credible investor but we've no pot to p1ss in. Too worst scenarios. - we've been lied to after selling and go bust or; we don't sell and go bust. It's the same result. |
