I've never met the man and have no real desire to. Its fair to say that his articles - whilst maybe not anti-saints - are certainly sensationalist in their style. But then...look at the rag he works for.
That aside I thought his comments were fair in the original article. He praised saints and the new players, refused to criticize the old ones. Praised Koeman and the board but said they shouldn't expect to get away with such a high staff turnover again. In effect, there was a deal of luck involved. He pointed out that this would probably not be a successful business model in the long term.
Personally I agree. I think the fact that everything else he has written since the beginning of the summer was highly negative and sensationalist and that even this - a positive piece in the main - was written in such a grudging tone upset some of our more sensitive fans. Poor lambs. |

Very poor today. Happy if we come out of this with 11 players on the pitch. Draw would be a bonus. Can't string passes together. Swansea have looked good. Just a bad day at the office. Still time to get something but i don't think we deserve it and Swansea may nick it. |

Seems like a mad decision to me. Unless someone better is coming in we have seriously weakened the creativity of our team. Apart from tadic we have nobody capable of unlocking a defence like Gaston could. He looked revitalized from the bench against West Ham...this one makes less sense than any of the sales to me. |

Ramirez to one of our major competitors for mid-table safety this season and no evidence of any new players...how is that strengthening the squad? Even if we bring someone in that seems like madness to me. Gaston has looked up for it this season.

We really do! If Tadic can stop giving the ball away we should be ok. Can see us dropping the points tho cos the balance of winning 50/50's has shifted to west ham a bit since the subs. And we do keep passing the ball to them...sigh |

Even his gf being here couldn't help him settle. Who knows why? People quick to call him lazy etc as did the inter fans. Not sure tho...training sessions look like a breeze under Koeman compared to under poch. |
