Extortionate Gas prices, Electricity prices soaring..crisis in full effect 06:32 - Oct 6 with 6377 viewssaint68

Sounds familiar doesn't it, well that's the situation here in Spain and across-the-board in Europe..member States getting rather angry and turning on the commission to act.

Italy suffering with massive debt, food shortages, and rising tensions due to the mass immigration from across the Mediterranean.

Spanish government have actually acted by cutting all profits for energy companies to bridge the gap on energy costs..France stamping their feet and saying that shouldn't be allowed ( a suppler to Spain)

See its happening over here and across Europe, but when I read the insular clap trap from desperate remainers blaming Brexit for absolutely everything happening back in England it really does make me chuckle..

I think the saying was "Little Britain' by those that wanted to remain in the (Union🤔🤔🤒) Well maybe take a look at the state of the European Union before blaming everything on leaving the very un-harmonious EU.

Poll: Who would you want to save this season Pellegrino or Adkins

Cant understand how you think that the EU 'just makes rules and laws with no scrutinizing'
The EU council are made up of the heads of state of the 27 countries, they ultimately decide on policy.
There is plenty of scrutinizing.

on most things yes, but not all, as you have seen with the boarder being closed much to the suprise and shock to both NI and ROI with no council meeting at all, was on the news before NI n ROI respected goverments even knew and only found out cause it was on the news........

when it was the EEC, it was full of positives. unrestricted trade with no giving up of boarders, no freedom of movement, no european court, no eurpoean mp's, no eurpoean unelected fools telling us what we should or should not do and if we dont fall in line you'll be booted out.

As Poland are finding out, you either do as told by the eu or you will be kicked out.

Why can't Brexiters spell the word border? They always put boarders

Here you go mate, still being finalised but a great way to establish roots and will also further down the line enable full residencia.

It's one of 3 different visas being offered and from what I can see is a hassle free way of going outside of the current 90 day situation that the Spanish government don't really want to enforce anyway...the discussion between Madrid and London to keep reciprocal arrangements to before Brexit were torpedoed by Paris and Berlin funnily enough.
As you know the UK allows Spanish citizens to remain in the UK for over half a year at a time visa free 180 days presently

Good bit of info in that link, that'll come in handy for someone i know, but the point still remains that it's harder to move to Spain than it was before Brexit.
People who can't afford private healthcare or haven't got a job over there yet can't just go and see how it pans out like I did, that is now impossible

“Understaffed”?!

The entire population of the UK is only 67m!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_employers

Watch the Channel 4 documentary 'Clapped Out: Is the NHS broken?' It's no laughing matter. The comparisons with other European countries are shocking. We have the smallest number of doctors per thousand population of 20 European countries. Our hospitals are also chronically underequipped. Germany has 4 to 5 times the respiratory and radiology equipment that we have.

If you are diagnosed with cancer in this country the outcome (cure/death) is worse than in 16 other European countries.

They won't watch, it doesn't tally with their worldview that everything is hunky dory in brave Brexit Britain.
I really thought the penny would have dropped by now.
The UK has even now put itself at a disadvantage by accepting EU goods without checks to assuage the shortage situation, but all this will do is drive British businesses to the wall because they can't compete on a level playing field with European Union providers

Ok. You didn't say we needed more GPs. (which is true) You said the NHS is understaffed (which it isn't - well unless you think we need a big push to overtake the Chinese Red Army and get into the top 3 of the world's employers?)

Yes, hospitals are underequipped but that's due to massive over staffing. Cut down on this and hospitals can get more equipment.

Don’t need to watch. I accept that things are not hunky dory nor ever have been and the EU have made bureaucracy as difficult as possible.
Your comments are mostly childish and show that despite the democratic majority vote many remainers have still to accept the reality. Shame.

Over staffing? There are not enough GPs to deal with patients. There aren’t enough mental health practitioners to deal with their patients. The new Covid hospitals built last year were not used properly because they couldn’t staff them. Any person you speak to in the NHS will tell you that they are understaffed. Where on Earth do you get your information from?

I think he means we have a lot of bureaucrats, which is something we seem to be rather good at in this country, whereas our friends on the continent employ more doctors and nurses. At times it seems like there are more people here administering and assessing the medical staff than there are actual medical staff. All of the paperwork they produce is fed back to our unwieldy government where it can be discussed ad infinitum by more bureaucrats while patients die waiting for operations.

As Dirk rightly said. Too many of the wrong type of employee.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_employers

So that means, on average, every time you go to SMS there are 1,400 people there directly employed by the NHS.

One thing the NHS is NOT is understaffed.

Spot on.

I read somewhere once that there were 94,000 NHS hospital beds throughout the country... and 102,000 NHS managers. Sounds about right for a nation of sticklers & bureaucracy.

Old School is Cool

Then perhaps you should have said that? There is a big difference between front line staff and back up staff and there clearly aren’t enough front line staff.
