| If it is Eckert 21:02 - Nov 13 with 2024 views | MattFinish | FFS let’s get behind him and the team ie no bed wetters booing if he brings on a sub you don’t agree with I’m not saying I’d be happy with the appointment but if it’s Tonda I’ll back him to begin with but if he fails the fault will lay squarely with Sport Republic | | | | |

Totally agree mate but we need to get behind him at the outset. I doubt there are many fans who thought Eckert will get the gig and hopefully we’ll get a top manager instead We need a manager who can perform in the PL if by chance we get there
| If it is Eckert on 21:44 - Nov 13 with 1933 views | saintwizzler | I will support every manager during the game but I reserve the right to criticise after. It’s going to take some for me to trust these owners and go back to St Mary’s. Jokers. | |

SR can’t handle a real manager, they need a yes man who will do as they say. Add the obvious player power that now exists at the club and we have no chance of getting a good manager. Until SR are gone we will only get worse. Time for our awful local journalists to actually start asking questions of SR and fans to protest.

Several reasons of which include...... 1) They command 'decent' money 2) They don't fancy managing an outfit with crâp owners / bosses 3) There might not be any 'decent' managers available 4) Budget constraints or direction the owners stipulate 5) Joining a basket case outfit

| If it is Eckert on 07:47 - Nov 14 with 1619 views | kingolaf | Nope. SR taking the proverbial out of us supporters. I’ll go to games until the end of the season, I’ve paid up front. I won’t boo, never do. I won’t buy anything in the ground. That will be me done at the end of the season. I hate the way these clowns are running a club I’ve supported all my life. I just don’t enjoy it any more. | | | |

There was a protest before the Preston game. No one was there when I arrived.

Exactly this. I was there ten minutes early (13:50hrs) expecting to see even a small gathering - fcuk all was happening apart from a few tourist types having pics with Ted Bates. Wished I had of stayed in the pub. Our fanbase are more interested in 'influencing' on Social Media (of what they influence is far beyond me) or frequenting The Dell bar and gulags. Funnily enough they were pumping. Even after the result I was hoping for something big / the catalyst, but nothing worthy of note. If only we had the American system whereby you own a franchise and can move it there you want. I would shift the club up North where the population are out on the streets when their club us outside the Top 4

| If it is Eckert on 11:26 - Nov 14 with 1442 views | benalisbroom | So difficult to know on the basis of two games, and I worry about his age. I suspect that there is one senior pro' who is unduly influential in the dressing room/club, so he will have that challenge...BUT there was one decision /sign in the Preston game which I really liked: square peg for a square hole in sending the youngster Williams on (who did fine). We've had so many years now when coaches have tinkered here and there, rather than set out a shape and stick to it by calling on the youngsters, and so many good PL2 players have failed to develop their skills and careers as a result. I'm 53 now, but remember as youth myself seeing Shearer in his early games: His amazing debut hatrick was followed by some decidely patchy performances but Chris Nicholl knew he was going to have a great career and resisted the temptation to drop him, knowing that he needed to be 'blooded'. It always makes me feel like its "our club" when these kids get a chance (yes, I am a sentimental old git) and I'm sick of seeing failing old pro's doing a bad job and blaming every one else because they're being played out of position. More of that please, Tonda. | | | |
| If it is Eckert on 11:38 - Nov 14 with 1414 views | SonicBoom | The fact we would even consider Tonda is ridiculous. We are a big club in need of a steady hand to guide us back to where we should be. We have tried several left field managers and it hasn't worked. Now wr think that a coach of the junior side deserves a go at the main job because he oversaw 2 unconvincing wins over opposition we should be beating anyway?? And we're going to accept that? F me. Not only has he never done the job before, there is way more to being the main man than just picking a team each week and following tactics handed down from above. I'm sure hes a good guy with a good future but we are not in the position to be developing him in post. Get a proper experienced manager in and stop trying to be clever. What next? We getting Clive Woodward back?? | | | |

There were enough views on the thread I started to get people down there. 9500+ views. It was on Twitter. 4 lads were talking about it at 11am on the day on the table next to me in Scholars. People knew about it. Sport Republic. Getting away with murder.

I was there, and nothing was happening. However, I have a few reflections on this. Some people were saying "Let's see how we do today". People aren't angry before a game and many people are "busy" or stuck.in traffic or whatever. There could be protests before a game, then we win 3 nil. Highly unlikely I know!!! So in hindsight, I am questioning the timing of any protest. Secondly, having spoken to people, they don't know what to do and / or don't think singing a few songs outside the ground, that the directors can't hear, will have any impact. What did have an impact, were loud chants during the game, resulting in Will Still's sacking 2 days later. Inside the stadium, all.stakeholders heard the feelingsof the fans. Everyone heard the chants, they were shown on social media, whereas protests outside the stadium, probably wouldn't have had much coverage and the directors probably wouldn't have known they had even happened or heard them through the double glazed windows! We need to protest inside the stadium, tennis balls.on the pitch, banners, leaving the ground empty until.the 10th minute, loud chants against the board and I think people would be more up for this, especially when angry when Saints lose again. Ultimately, the attendances will drop dramatically. If Eckert is appointed and we finish 14th, im done with giving the club any more money next season. [Post edited 14 Nov 12:04]

Last week, he was in the right place at the right time and presided over back to back wins. Lucky chap. Let's hope his luck holds. His U21 record is not to be discounted and he has already blooded a youngster which is something that a lot of us would like to see more of. As I said, good luck to him [Post edited 14 Nov 14:39]

Another inept manager leaves to be replaced by another inept manager. The problem is Sport Republic. They maybe making money off the pitch but the team slide down the leagues.
