Jury's still out for me, primarily down to substitutions and why make them for the sake of it

I suspect he will get the job, but I am worried long-term. Tonda has turned things around and done brilliantly as a caretaker manager but worry he will get outdone by more experienced managers on days like today. This was a real test today, and Tonda didn't quite get it right and we got beat. When there are fine lines in tough games, I am not convinced he would get us promoted.

He's already been given the job according to my sources. The only reason it hasn't been announced is because he doesn't hold the required work permits/badges or whatever they're called and was refused. We appealed and are awaiting the outcome.

It’s a tough one to call. Is it just a new manager bounce? Probably not because we don’t seem to have them

If you think about it if we had a full strength team out we’d have beaten Millwall. We had Scienza, Jelert, Charles, Downes and Stewart all out and Welington probably not fit enough to start

If we get all of them back and buy a keeper and a striker we can beat anyone in this league

In the absence of anyone else who is of proven ability being available, we are halfway through the season and Tonda knows the squad and has done well I’d give him the job. End of the season then review.

Not for me.

He’s done well but he’s not a genius. Yesterday he puts Stephens back in the side, we’re back to playing pointless tippy tappy and the substitutions were baffling.

It looks to me like some of the senior players have too much influence. They don’t seem to have moved on from RussBall. We need an experienced manager to sort our problems out.

Tactically, Eckert wasn’t at the races yesterday.

Jury out for me as well. We have had a good run and agree the team has responded to him. Happy to continue with TE and see how it works out.

However, it was disappointing to return to old ways, playing across the back for long periods, and creating little in the process. Millwall did press well and put us under pressure, but they won't be the last team to do this, and we have be more creative to deal with it.

Whilst we were missing a number of key players, I am not convinced, it would have made any difference yesterday, because of the way the back line played 'keep ball' for ages and side to side.
We started the game like this from the off, and It was obvious that it wasn't working, but Tonda did little to change things, in fact bringing Aribo on made it worse, and as much as I like Romeu he looked slow.

I get the impression Tonda is a deep thinker will learn from games/ mistakes and will get most things right. Aribo at Leicester was rubbish and proved it again at Millwall, so will we see him play again after 2 bad showings? The answer should be NO, but I would say SR are insisting he gets game time, so they can move him on.
Tonda being young and inexperienced at this level might be unduly influenced by the owners and could be swayed by the senior players. You wouldn't see that happen with Koeman.
Tonda has proved he can get this team firing and he will learn quickly, so I'd stick with him till the end of the season and then see who's available.

A new keeper in January should be a top priority.

My glass remains half full...it's only ginger beer since quack red carded me off the real stuff years ago.

Cliche 1 . It's been a season in two parts.
Pre Tonda we are beaten/humiliated by football behemoths like Hull, Bristol City ,Preston and Blackburn.
Also we couldn't even score at home against some fishy jackasses that currently occupy 21st place in the table.

With Tonda we string 4 in a row in the (W) column. Yesterday we lost away to a 97th minute winner to a team that is pretty short odds to be in the play offs, whilst missing a couple of key players.
Time for a deep breath.

Cliche 2 (PC version)...It's not over 'til the seriously overweight lady sings.

(Readers should note that the above cliche is rendered invalid if you are attending a seriously overweight lady singing competition.
