| Pompey Caterers Go Bust 09:10 - Feb 17 with 911 views | SaintNick | I see the catering firm that Pompey outsourced their matchday food outlets to has gone bust. Apparently the cancellation of the Ipswich game a second time meant that they could not pay their staff and so they went bust. In fairness one of the club sponsors got together a crowd funding page to raise the money to pay what they were owed and Pompey themselves have said they want as many of those staff now redundant to be employed by the new catering operation | |

According to him she’s owed £300 and still hasn’t been paid The club have been in touch to tell her that whilst so won’t be paid for those shifts she’s done, does she still want to work for the next firm.

Its not Portsmouth FC who employed her it is an outside catering firm who owe her the money. although it would be nice to cast them as the baddies in this situation, they are doing the best to make sure the staff who have been made redundant are taken on by whoever takes over the contract. As I say one of the club's sponsors is crowd funding the money to pay those who are owed

Not that guilty conscience, I meant that the rumour is that the caterers went bust after Pompey cancelled the game against Ipswich twice at short notice and that it left them with surplus stock and without the income unable to pay wages and suppliers. The whisper is that on one of the games at least, it was cancelled after Pompey had watered the pitch to ensure that it would not be passed fit as they had a big injury list

Surely they wouldn’t have a contract with the club, that said if the game gets cancelled on the day they don’t get paid. That would be plain mental.

Good time to play them, they lost one and drew one after a great run. Would have been the last thing we wanted

Whats a few dozen people being made redundant if it means Pompey can avoid relegation
