Not all down to Welah, Lissah has been a breath of fresh air between the both of them it allows the fullback to function better, the midfield isn't required to assist so much and we end up playing ion the front foot.
Yes having a right footed player comfortable on the left hand side of the defence has been brilliant,, it has been hard to find the right fit on the left hand side of the central defence. | | | |

Yes , it looks like Welsh and Lissah have been playing together for years . I think Cabango on occasion makes the odd rash challenge . Last night there was an example. Also he is not as agile or supple . Its a great problem to have but at the same time a conundrum to solve [Post edited 6 Sep 14:19]

All eleven players have a defensive responsibility. When we don’t have the ball we make it hard for the opposition by closing them down quickly all over the pitch. Pressing high up needs to be organised annd disciplined and ours is. It’s not just about a back four. The whole team have been excellent defensively and Vigoroux of course has been outstanding too. Welsh and Lissah are good on the ball with a range of passing. We have Cabango and Steet and they will all play a big part. Hoping we can keep Tymon and Key firing as they are doing so well. When the high press is done properly than it will restrict the player on the ball time to pick out quality balls, better players need less time so targeting weaker ball players has been part of the game for years, it is up to the analysts to identify those weaknesses, as the standard of the leagues improve the harder it is to find them but they are often there, if they have more than one player with weaknesses you can vary the press to catch those players off guard. Arguably Saints were the first team to not sit back and defend 11 men behind the ball against us this year? Whiel we all thought this was the apporach teams would take to stifle us, maybe attacking us like that is the better way forward to beat us.
Os this is all waffle and we just came unstuck due to it being game 4 in 11 days and rotation/tired legs/minds caught up with us |  |

Idah keeps trying these speculative 25 yard shots when there are players in better positions than him. He wastes good ball a bit too often. So both of them have their faults. To me it's a toss of a coin. I can see arguments for and against both of them. In Matos we trust! | | | |

Its lucky our manager doesnt do what some of our fans want them to do, we would probably be relegated.
Most of our fans dont know anywhere near as much as matos, as he is a professional coach, with extensive experience, we are only qualified to give our opinion because we are fans and deserve that.
He sees our players, day in day out, he sees how the train, he sees their attitudes, he has assistance to help him make team selections.
Fwiw Vip will probably be benched on Saturday along with cabango as its our 5th game in 14 days, they wont be dropped, they will probably be benched with at least 2 more from the starting 11 on Tuesday as its a squad game now.
We have a decent squad, where several are trying to find their feet, its going to take a few more games to get it right, people have complained for several years that we have a thin squad and now we have a our strongest squad for years and yet people are still complaining.
When we get back to weekly games we will probably see our near enough best 11.
Until then i am not expecting us to win every game. [Post edited 10 Sep 22:22]
