| Nathan Jones at loggerheads wuth his players. 12:10 - Dec 30 with 2382 views | GRIM | It would appear that all is not well at St Mary's. NJ wants to change to a permanent 3 ctr back system & apparently the players concerned are saying that they are not happy or comfortable playing that system. That's all we need, friction in the camp. History tells us that we struggle playing with 3 ctr backs. Our full backs then become wing backs & spend most of their time in opposition half leaving us very exposed on the flanks. It'll be interesting to see what system we play against Fulham & if NJ wins the battle of the ctr backs. | | | | |

Perhaps some of the players think he’s beneath them , that may or may not be the case but the players aren’t exactly world beaters so they’ve got a fvcking nerve .

| Nathan Jones at loggerheads wuth his players. on 17:06 - Dec 30 with 1948 views | Southamptonfan | Players upset again? What a f@cking surprise. Watford had the same issues so they swapped their manager 10 times. It's the PL today. A bunch of overpaid t0ssers who won't do as they are told. Whether NJ is right or wrong, he's the boss they should do as they are f@cking told, especially after they apparently wanted Ralph out. They don't like the next manager either!!! Sort it out Ralph. Oh hang on, didn't they lose faith in him too? [Post edited 30 Dec 2022 17:08]

Dyche was my choice but he would never have been appointed. Here is the initial interview transcript: "I want an experienced, tough tackling f@cking lump at the back to sort out our defence, someone I can trust and do a job now, tou rough em up" Saints board "I'm sorry Mr. Dyche but you must play sweet little Larios as we develop young players here and technical ability" "Oh f@ck, I also need a 6ft 4 striker to kick a few heals and get on the end of a few corners. Not a youngster, a f@cking leader, strong and over 30". Saints board "No you need to develop little Adam Armstrong". "No f@cking deal!" Mr Dyche responded in a gravelly and growly voice. An awful but plausible prediction. Hassenhutl had run out of ideas, and despite the shock of his appointment, it's fair to give Jones a chance. But if they lose against Fulham, it's time up already - it can't go on. It seemed that removing Hassenhutl was all about change, but there's been no change. Even just starting S.Armstrong instead of Diallo would have raised a little optimism, surely? But no, not even that. After six (4) weeks. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Why are you surprised that the new manager plays young players like Djenepo and Diallo at a club that spent 60 million on a load of under 20's and not one experienced player? A club that goes on about developing young players every minute of the day? Diallo has to play, he's a young player they can make a profit on. The manager is under instruction to develop all these young players they have brought in, not play the old ones! They only have a few years left in them and no sell on value. It wasn't Ralph!!! He demanded an experienced striker in the summer, and they didn't deliver. I know this happened from the friend of a friend. That's why Ralph was so p!ssed off. Blame the board, the Southampton way, the policies, the philosophy. Things won't change, because the people at the top want what they want and will appoint only those who agree to it. And no news on Lavia. You watch him go to Chelsea. What a profit that would be so quickly. I'm mostly amazed at how much f@cking faith so many Saints fans had in Semmens and the owners to bring in a top manager. Astonished. [Post edited 30 Dec 2022 19:35]

I'm not surprised at anything apart from the fact that nothing's changed. And with Hassenhutl demanding a striker, you have to ask why Danny Ings wanted to leave, because it was his goals that kept Saints up for two seasons.

He left because Villa gave him a massive pay rise. He left because Villa are much more ambitious shown by their appointment of Emery. Again, blame the owners. [Post edited 30 Dec 2022 19:54]

Dean Smith was manager at Villa when he signed for them even though he was offered a contract that would have made him the highest paid player at Saints, and in it's history, about a million or so less than Villa. He left because he couldn't see more than mid table with Saints under Hassenhutl's tactics.

No, when we need every fcking point, the next Manager starts to learn on how own from the Start now? Wow, so glad we pay two Managers now with the New one repeating the mistakes of the fired one...
