It would appear that all is not well at St Mary's.
NJ wants to change to a permanent 3 ctr back system & apparently the players concerned are saying that they are not happy or comfortable playing that system.
That's all we need, friction in the camp.
History tells us that we struggle playing with 3 ctr backs. Our full backs then become wing backs & spend most of their time in opposition half leaving us very exposed on the flanks.
It'll be interesting to see what system we play against Fulham & if NJ wins the battle of the ctr backs.

In both the Lincoln and Brighton games the players certainly didn’t look like they were giving there all for the manager .

Watford had the same issues so they swapped their manager 10 times.

Dyche was my choice but he would never have been appointed. Here is the initial interview transcript:

An awful but plausible prediction.
Hassenhutl had run out of ideas, and despite the shock of his appointment, it's fair to give Jones a chance. But if they lose against Fulham, it's time up already - it can't go on.
It seemed that removing Hassenhutl was all about change, but there's been no change. Even just starting S.Armstrong instead of Diallo would have raised a little optimism, surely?

Why are you surprised that the new manager plays young players like Djenepo and Diallo at a club that spent 60 million on a load of under 20's and not one experienced player? A club that goes on about developing young players every minute of the day? Diallo has to play, he's a young player they can make a profit on. The manager is under instruction to develop all these young players they have brought in, not play the old ones! They only have a few years left in them and no sell on value.
It wasn't Ralph!!! He demanded an experienced striker in the summer, and they didn't deliver. I know this happened from the friend of a friend. That's why Ralph was so p!ssed off. Blame the board, the Southampton way, the policies, the philosophy. Things won't change, because the people at the top want what they want and will appoint only those who agree to it.
And no news on Lavia. You watch him go to Chelsea. What a profit that would be so quickly.
I'm mostly amazed at how much f@cking faith so many Saints fans had in Semmens and the owners to bring in a top manager. Astonished. [Post edited 30 Dec 2022 19:35]

Dean Smith was manager at Villa when he signed for them even though he was offered a contract that would have made him the highest paid player at Saints, and in it's history, about a million or so less than Villa.
