| If memory serves….. 06:40 - Sep 25 with 1341 views | PatfromPoole | The club fcuked Swansea about for a month or so to save £400k on the compensation package we had to pay Swansea for Martin’s release, waiting until the Football League AGM ratified our relegation in June. The prospect of them rushing to pay out a sum probably 3 or 4 times that amount to sack him is therefore not one they are going to very easily stomach….. | |

Fat Cat as you call her, I'm sure Markus would be pleased that his daughter is shown such little respect, could have sold this club down the river in 2014 when it was almost bankrupted, but she didn't. She has always kept her 20% in her Father memory because she did not want to see something he loved just go to waste. If it was about recouping her investment she could have sold it long ago and also cashed in her remaining 20%.

Don't disagree Nick. Katherina is not the problem, but I worry about Sports Republic's long term commitment.

Bang on 100% I would take Kat being back in 100% control any day over anyone that has come in since … Christ to bring things down a level, I even have to applaud the Car Salesman for keeping us in the PL #BringBackBigLesReed(Not) [Post edited 25 Sep 2023 13:26]

But what power or influence can she wield with her 20% stake? Can she veto important decisions to put a block on them? Unlikely, I would have thought. This isn’t meant to be a criticism of her, although her decision to sell 80% to Gao was ultimately the start of this shambles.

Yep. And whilst I know some have argued that at least Gao kept us in the PL, his tenure was death by a thousand cuts. Sports Republic sadly are picking up years of underinvestment. That said, they have excelled in bringing in some truly awful managers
