You can see from those stats how distinctive the Russel Martin style is. For example, Swansea were top of the league for total touches, but they were bottom of the league for total "take-ons" i.e. attempts to beat a player. In other words, never attempt to dribble past a defender, just keep recycling possession. I suspect Mr Martin will be shocked at how poor some of our passing is. One things for sure, if Martin signs then dribblers like Moussa have played their last game for Saints. | | | |
