Still fair play to them as that’s not a bad way to win your first champions league and should shut up many of those Man U glory hunters!

So many fellas on their phones or just standing there with their arms folded. You've just won the European Cup for God's sake. This reaction to a massive cup win is soulless, you can't compare 25,000 fans with West Ham's 6000 the other night. Mad how through the final they talk about absolutely everything, all the people who have 'worked so hard'. But they will not mention the oil money. Would they have any of the three trophies without it? It’s the best player for them every match, every year but you never hear it given any credit. I think it’s deeply unfair not to give it the recognition it deserves, even if no one else will mention you I will. Well done Oil, top lad. Sure your be found not guilty of all them 115 ffp charges

Tbf though, other than spurs, all the rest of that “top 6” have been just the same buying the trophies they’ve also won, due to just always buying the best players. As yeah their money may not have come from oils whilst city’s has, but at the end of the day they’re all just as bad as each other and it looks like Newcastles just gonna be the next one

As Blackburn did back in 94 (?) with Jack Walker's money until that ran out

Nothing will come of those 115 charges. Nothing will happen to Newcastle who will be allowed to spend silly amounts now that there is a huge media backing for them and their amazing supporters. Chelsea spent more in a few months than Everton have done in years and won’t be subject to any FFP, whilst Leicester got relegated after not being allowed to spend any money due to FFP and having to sell on of their best players to Chelsea and will now probably sell other players to Newcastles. It’s completely bent and set up for the cartel to do whatever they want whilst everyone else is condescended. As you say, barely a mention of where the money has come from. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Agreed but I’d argue your lot are part of the cartel

You are kidding? Everton have got money, or at least Moshiri has money, but he’s/they weren’t allowed to spend a penny in January due to FFP. As I’ve said for all the money Everton have spent over the years since Moshiri came along, mostly on shite, Chelsea have spent nearly as much in a few months with zero consequences.

I don't know too much about the ffp rules or claim to, but isn't it down to income earnt by the clubs rather than sugar daddies throwing money at transfers etc? I'd guess Chelsea's income from the Russian's pocket (or insert Citey's from the Arabs, or Geordies over next few years) was not shall we say, earnt from sales of tee shirts as it wouldn't have been from Moshiri, so the rules are based on not being able to lose so much over 3 years so something so Chelsea take the risk and spread the money with contracts over 8 years to fiddle the books rather than 3? That was Everton's problem, they didn't have the foresight to fiddle the books and get away with it!

I think it’s the loose term of how money is earned. City’s owners pay them (and therefore themselves) an absolute fortune for sponsorship, way ahead of normal rates. Newcastle’s new owners will do the same and so will United’s.
