Saints Prepare For Life Outside The Premier League With Redundancies 8th Jun 2023 13:30

I wonder how many years of these people's wages the club could have paid with the money wasted on Tall Paul, Orsic and the rest...

T Paul and Orsic have only played a handful of games between them.T Paul mostly as a sub and Orsic I think only once. The problem was owners who employed managers who hadn’t a clue .

It would lift everyone's spirits if they made Alex McCarthy redundant.

Player recruitment wasn't done by our managers.

The managers play a part of the recruitment process, James Bree was definitely one the manager wanted rather than someone on our radar, I was once told by someone in the club that there was no point in buying a player unless the manager had ultimately given the final say on the situation, as he just wouldn't play him if he didn't want him

I very much doubt anyone brought in by the last two managers would have been better than whose we had already.

I'm not expecting any better from the next manager, if it is Russell Martin. We'll get Swansea's equivalent of Bree, not any of their best players, and their squad is worse than Luton's.

Just sell one extra will pay the wages of all these unfortunate people or maybe the chumps who got us relegated could all put some money in a bucket

I can’t see The Alpine Klopp wanting a load of kids in at the start of last season?
Mind you he probably didn’t care.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

He wanted a striker, he was expecting one in last August, if he had got one we might well still be in the Premier League and he may still be in a job

We all wanted a striker.
One that could score goals.
We got Mara.

If he’d of won a few more games then yes, he would have still been in a job.
As would Nathan Jones and Ruben Selles.

It’s a results based business.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

Yep and not getting a striker was a big part of not getting results, but not the only issue, Ralph averaged .86 points per game this season before he was sacked, that would have given him 33 points if he had maintained that average, which would have at least have taken us to the final day, but I would contend that given the injury issues he had in his final month and the money we would have spent in January, he would have improved his average and kept us up

Injuries, every team gets injuries.

We will never know will we?
In hindsight we might as well of stuck with him as it couldn’t have got any worse.

As I said he wouldn’t have wanted a load of kids brought in.

I liked Hasenhüttl but his time was long gone.
He did not want to be at the club.
If he could have resigned and had his contract paid up he would have.
No one in their right mind is going to walk away from 2.5 years left on a £6m a year contract.
I hope he enjoys his retirement.
Thank you Ralph Hasenhüttl.

Let’s hope it’s third time lucky with Russell Martin.

You are right perhaps his time was nearing it's end, but it just goes to show be careful what you wish for and make sure you have someone better lined up

I wished for Eddie Howe before he went to Newcastle.

No one wished for Jones,. Like many i would of taken Dyche.

Unfortunately redundancies were always going to happen once we (or 90% of clubs for that matter) lose their top flight status and the revenue that comes with it.

We need to cut our cloth accordingly and the club will be under a lot of pressure to try and balance the books.

80 odd million loan that’s got to be paid back ( I believe?) and 120 odd million in transfer fees that need to be paid .
