| 23rd on 19:17 - Sep 23 with 957 views | LondonSaint76 | Pat, 23rd is actually where we are in the current form table - based over the last 5 games we have 3 points, only Sheff Wed are worse off with 2 points. Plus we have the 4th worst GD at -7, only the bottom 3 are worse off with -8 or -9. TBH (and I'm gald they didn't) had Boro taken more of their 2nd half chances, we would be on -8 or even -9 GD! Meanwhile, Ipswich with a squad value of around £20m sit second in the table and Preston with a squad value of around £40m sit third. Our squad value is around £200m in addition to the money banked from summer sales. I assume most of that went to clear debts from the disasterous spending spree in the previous two windows. Actually, whilst on the subject of the money spent on transfers in, Plymouth Argyle managed put 6 past Norwich this afternoon whilst we were tailspinning to another defeat a few hundres miles North East of Home Park (if it's still called that), their squad value is around £10m and the total cost to the Club of the 4 scorers that between them netted the 6 goals was about £1.2m in transfer fees, plus whatever loan fees they paid for Aziz and Cundle. Scarr was a free transfer, only Whittaker cost a fee and that was just north of £1m. There you go SR, you love stats and data , see what you think of those - all facts, not idealistic fantasy football fiction... [Post edited 23 Sep 2023 19:19]

Facts. And they're all doing better than Saints because they've got a manager/motivator in charge, not a clueless clown. | | | |
