They seem to be awful, they just seem to sit there and not get the ball

They have such potential to get better. One of them looked like he was about to go and get the ball, so he has time to improve. It's the Sport Republic way.

At least its better than under Russell Martin when the ball boys used to pass the ball amongst themselves and refused to give it long

Do they use different ball boys each game and not have any sense of direction or purpose?

Sounds familiar.

I dont know, but some may think its trivial, they are ball boys, certainly in the past I have discussed with the club this issue and ball boys can be an asset, when you are taking a throw in getting the ball quickly and catching the opposition on the back foot can result in a goal.

There is also the dark arts where the ball boys slow things down for the opposition.

Yes perhaps its a small thing in the grand scheme, but you never know what it can change

Surely this is something which actually is part of Parsons' remit.

I am all for the club indulging in the dark arts. We are far too nice.

Parsons is the CEO, he shouldnt get "directly" involved in football issues , his job is to appoint a Director of Football who in turn puts in place the staff in that side of things.

It is all about getting all the boxes ticks, from the smallest detail to the biggest, it is the smallest details that can sometimes cost you dearly

Surely a Director of Football wouldn't be getting involved in ball boy issues.

Spors is presumably far too busy brushing up on his Italian and checking out accommodation in Turin.

If you read what I said Spors is there to appoint those who do deal with it, someone will be in their analytic department, looking at what can be improved , it may sound a bit petty, but over the years we have had some bizarre things happen as someone believed that it would give us an edge or a small advantage.

Two that spring to mind are

1. Glenn Hoddle decided that our performance could be improved by changing shorts from black to red, he believed that white shorts were more positive and thus we had a load of white shorts made, before they could be used he left the club and the shorts were in a cupboard somewhere till the 2003 FA cup semi against Watford, we lost the toss for choice of kit and would have had to change, but the white shorts were dug up and worn that day at Villa Park for the first and i think only time.

2.When St Mary's was build and I was given a tour before it had opened, I was shown the visitors dressing room and it was pointed out that the inside of the cubicle doors had full length mirrors in them, again this was believed to make the opposition feel inferior by having to watch themselves sit on the loo.

"They seem to be awful, they just seem to sit there and not get the ball" Substitute 'stand' for 'sit' and you could say the same about some of our players.

It's the Southampton way.

I am fairly sure that Rupert Lowe wanted us to have a black away kit, as he believed that would be more intimidating for the opposition.

Which may be no surprise given his political views.

He and Hoddle must have had some intriguing chats about the colour of kits.......

I remember a game where Mourinho was boss and a switched on BallBoy quickly recycled the ball to a home player for a quick throw in which resulted in a goal on the break.
Whilst the players celebrated The Special One walked down the touchline and High 5'd the ballboy and pretty sure a mentioned him in postmatch interview and thanked him for the assist 👍😂

Odd as they did a good job in the 2nd tier of German football.
