Hasenhuttl Has High Hopes For His Time At Saints
at 12:54:29

Agree with everything beynali73 says above. I feel that Ralph is absolutely fantastic about being positive - but being somewhat totally unrealistic ........... HE NEEDS and total re-thinking from the Southampton Owner and his board - at present, the attitude is - to go for bargain basement players - who won't cost a lot - AND HOPE that is enough to keep Saints in the Premiership. To accomplish Ralph's ambitions we need a change of owner or board or preferably BOTH.

The Ugly Inside TV Burnley Game Match Reaction
at 10:30:12

Prooving my point - look at the " photo still " at 8.26 on this video ..... you see Crouches right hand grabbing Jacks shirt preventing him from jumping - putting him off balence - hence arm in the air. SO the old pro who has just won a point for his new team - and prevented Saints from gaining all 3!

The Ugly Inside TV Burnley Game Match Reaction
at 10:04:24

Deff FOWL.

I could not understand why Jack STEPHENS in yesterday's game at Burnley - had his arm so high when going up to head the ball with Crouch directly behind him? the answer came when GOS Chris Kamara, showed the camera angle ( not shown on MOTD ) showing Crouch grabbing a handful of the back of Stephens shirt STOPPING HIM JUMPING - therefore Jack STEPHENS was TRYING to head the ball with Crouch behind pulling his shirt downwards .......... this was not seen by any of the officials as "too many bodies were around the ball " - all ref could see was Crouch heading the ball against Jack STEPHENS arm. If you look at both just after the incident - Crouch looks guilty ............. and Jack STEPHENS looks angry!

Conclusions - Jack STEPHENS realizes he has just been shafted by an old pro who has just won a point for his new team - and prevented Saints from gaining all 3!

Business Done At St Mary's
at 00:22:42

Ralph has come in - and evaluated the players and our situation! He has obviously very quickly taken the view that we have several players - and has come to the conclusion that many not up to Premiership standards and has acted accordingly. He has calculated that he has enough quality to get us through to the end of this season - and keep us in the Premiership ( and feel the same as I DO - that the bottom 3 at present will go down!) His system is to work with a smaller group - enabling him to improve their overall skills .
I am certain that come the summer 2019 - the board will back Ralph 110% - and we will see a Ralph's Saints team being assembled!

Should Saints Go For Gary Cahill
at 22:06:47

A few weeks ago another post raised this very question, at that time I did think that he could certainly do a good job for us - and in my opinion, could build our defense around Cahill. Since then we have a better idea of what Ralph future plans are - and unfortunately, they don't fit. Cahill at 33 is looking for a longish contract - and Ralph has stated that he is looking to the future and sign young hungry players to develop their skills - who we can make money when sold on.

Saints Need A Leader On The Pitch !
at 10:22:20

I now feel that Mark Hughes should offer this position to Jannik Vestergaard ( even on a temporary basis ) as I suggested in my post a couple of weeks ago.

Saints Need A Leader On The Pitch !
at 10:17:37

It has been glaringly obvious that we desperately in need of a leader/captain on and off the pitch. When Jannik Vestergaard signed for us - he did indicate that he was very much up for being the leader/ captain, as he enjoyed that role as the Denmark U21 captain. But being a level-headed sensible guy didn't wish to come bullying his way into that position - and wanted to slowly integrate into the team - and have the respect of his elders.
As there is no other outstanding nominees - I feel that

Josh Sims Goes Out On Loan
at 19:54:11

Sorry - But I feel that it is totally the wrong way to go. Josh, in my opinion, has been hard done by, he is now ready to be given his chance in the Premiership.I'm delighted for Josh he deserves first team football, and Reading will be the benefactors.

Saints Cut The Mustard Against Dijon !
at 18:13:20

Pity that it seems like the decision has been made that Mario Lemina is to be sold! Let's face it - if Man city comes a calling then we can't compete with their pay scale! Just hope we make a good profit - so we are able to purchase a quality striker.

Time will tell but we may have bought another gem in STUART ARMSTRONG.

Time For Positivity In The Saints Supporter Base
at 11:09:31

I find this post by Toussaint - to be totally in line with my views mainly
"but you can clearly see that we have been lied to when the club announced it would be more open to fans, they actually seem to have gone even incognito.we are left in the dark and that's where the negatives come from" I and others do not want to be negative, and do care passionately about our club, and are desperate for Saints to succeed, but like I mentioned yesterday - when was the last piece of "good news" you may say, Mark Hughes, appointment - ok but us fans CAN NOT work out WHY it took over 3 weeks to seal the deal - when MH and his staff had already been here for 3 months, and when Hughes himself wished to get things sorted quickly - it again smacks of lethargic incompetence by people at board level - along with all the other mistakes of last season, did not look good to fans!

Saints May Lose Out To Leicester On Maddison
at 09:43:00

I would be disappointed if James opted for joining " the foxes " yes nearer his home - but he has to think of the day to day enjoyment - who would you rather be under A manager under pressure ( who I find difficult to understand ) .... or A professional UK manager wanting to build a team around James!

I still feel that Harrison Reed will figure somewhere in bringing James to St Mary's.

The Ugly Inside TV ! New Kit Launch Reaction
at 10:52:55

Strips ........... I totally agree with Nick SOUTHAMPTON F.C. KIT HAS GOT TO BE RED & WHITE STRIPS, and was disgusted with the single red diaganel stripe , of the 2010/11 season - and I don't think the black trim fits on this years offering either.

2017/18 Season Review - Mario Lemina
at 12:14:56

Pellegrino failed to get the best out of him?

Can anyone name ANY Saint's PLAYER that Pellegrino improved or failed to get the best out - He was an absolute F'ing joke .... with his bizarre tactics and weird idea's - Thank goodness someone somewhere got rid of him - and IF it was Nelly Geo, then, then what a debt of gratitude we all owe her, just a pity it took so long for the penny to drop?

McCarthy Dilemma Looming For Saints
at 11:49:14

The VV dick worked out well, in the end, £75 Mill good business. Unless a club is owned by a person with more money than sense ( and I don't think that our Mr Geo has the money ) then Saints HAVE to be a selling club. With McCarthy, if an offer £20 Mill or more then sell and as I have mentioned before - see if we could get Buckland from Stoke who I do rate - and to be honest, a much better long-term prospect than McCarthy in my opinion.

Saints Fans Must Remain Calm Over Manager And Player Announcements
at 13:41:54

Can you give me ANY LOGICAL REASON WHY??? .
Has Southampton FC suddenly become a secret mafia club now? and are you seriously suggesting that Saints are about to bring in new signings - without a manager being in place?

I understand that the club CANNOT GIVE SENSITIVE DETAILS AWAY IN THE PRESS --- BUT WHY OH! WHY can it not be HONEST and UPFRONT with us Saints supporters? ---- AN OFFICIAL CLUB STATEMENT saying something like " The club is still in discussions with Mark Hughes - and will report when business is concluded " NO INSTEAD THEY HIDE AND YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT THEY SHOULD BE STATING TO TRY AND CALM THE SITUATION, getting YOU to do their dirty work - while they always keep SILENT - SILENT - SILENT is it too difficult for them to see that - it is our club as well!

Is Mark Hughes The Right Man For The Job ?
at 10:38:25

I do understand that you should put forward, a very balanced viewpoint, and agree that there should not be any sentimentality about the managers appointment.
Reading through your post - I got extremely angry - How you were comparing Hughes and Pellegrino's records were not that much different.
Pellegrino was the worse Manager in the whole of Southampton's history, you will not get Saints going 17 games without a win under Hughes!
Surly weighing up the differences - under Pellegrino dull unattractive boring style , that with his totally bazarr tactics and idea's dragged us to the bottom OR
Or give Mark Hughes a chance - who let's face it saved our season - by giving THE exactly same players that Pellegrino had BUT Mark Hughes installed in them positive belief/confidence and belief in themselves - and got us scoring again, and even under the nervous circumstances produced some flowing football.
I did try to tell the Saints fans that Mark Hughes Would keep us up and just be positive and believe he would - mainly because of what an excellent job that he has done with Stoke on a meagre budget for players, and yet 4 top 10 Premiership finishes ........ even Lambert said Hughes had done a great job..
