Thats exactly the point. People are fooled into thinking that everyone else is stupid and we should only trust the Government and its institutions for the truth. Look where that has got us.

That would be great if we could trust elections and the politicians to deliver on any promises that they make. Sadly we can't with a Party political system. And then, the current system is broken. Who voted for our current Prime Minister?
Who decides who the candidate is? What relevance does our vote have when it gets lost in the way the boundaries for a constituency are decided? How can a decent candidate, an Independent for example, compete with the hugely funded juggernauts of Labour and Conservative? Who the TV and papers slavishly focus all their coverage on.
And then there is election fraud. Does everyone know that since 1997, Postal voting has jumped from just 3% to over 20% now. Really? If so many people are supposedly no longer voting in person, that opens the door to huge levels of corruption, which has been evidenced to happen in the US. How do we know that isn't happening here?
The whole political system is screwed and the institutions are part of that. Which is why the Govt just introduced a bill to label as extremist anyone who criticises the Govt and institutions, who they can lock away for 2 years. They don't want to fix the system. And are changing the law to stop the people from being able to influence changing it. |

Sadly Bazz, you're never going to get an honest view from the TV. The TV is controlled by regulators, which means they will only show what is state approved, or they lose their licence. Look what happened to RT news the moment the Ukraine war started. They didn't want us to see the other perspective to give balance.
Especially in the place we are at now. Even we don't have a democracy, or the appearance of one, and neither does Europe - who voted for Sunak and who wants Starmer as an alternative?
So TV is always going to be heavily weighted to support what the State wants the public to get behind and go along with. Even, in this case, empathising with a fascist state killing women and kids indiscriminately, including their own - who we provide weapons to and hope to get the drilling contracts off of the coast of Gaza for.
That's why we're allowed to see the TV news, because the ruling powers want us to.
Even worse to trust official announcements - our Governments are corrupt and no longer represent the people.
I guess if everyone saw that, pressure may grow for media independence. At least we should all watch TV with the view that we should question everything we are told and question if that gives us the full picture. As you said, strangely you have seen very little anecdotal evidence of the other side in this new war - with Palestinians or those questioning the "war"/genocide -just emotional stuff to manipulate us in relation to Israeli, uncorroborated, experiences.
As things are now, the only chance you have to get an actual view is to look at multiple sources on the web - who provide actual sources - over stuff artificially created for a TV audience. Which much of it is. UKColumn.org is one of the few efforts I see to provide an honest daily news bulletin
Though very few of us have the time or inclination to do actual research on events. And why should we? We'd all like to think that we aren't constantly being lied to and manipulated [Post edited 10 Nov 2023 12:33]

Am really not looking for agreement. We all have our own views, and forever may that continue. I am just sharing a bit of info that I hoped might give a bit more insight than the manipulative garbage produced from the UK outlets, the left/right paradigm of which people constantly fall for. Especially Sky, BBC, Talk and GB News or any of the printed press. They are all just part of the State propaganda machine.

Totally agree that the Government is looking to create a problem here and stoke up tensions.
The truth is that there have been multiple attempts to negotiate the release of hostages, all rejected by the Israeli Govt. However, the Israeli governments "Hannibal" policy is that they will not negotiate and would rather kill their own people being held hostages so as not to be seen as weak.
In the last effort, there was a request to release hostages in return for UN controlled issue of food, water and urgent basic supplies to Palestinians. The Israelis rejected this.
This is all on record and you can look it up.
The Israeli Government, supported by the US, created and funded Hamas, just as they do with ISIS. Again, this is all on record and was confirmed recently in an Interview with the Israeli ambassador to the US in the Wall Street Times. There are interviews with Netanyahu when he demands that governments fund Hamas to help the Israeli cause.
Most recently it has come out that Israeli helicopter gunships shot their own people as they ran from Hamas kidnappers at the festival on October 7th as it was too hard to distinguish between them. You can find the footage on Twitter |

The EU is trying to push through censorship so that they can censor anything that they categorise as "misinformation", using regulatoons enforced on the complicit big tech companies. And who decides what qualifies as misinformation? The UN, the WEF or whoever is running a country's corrupt Govt at the time.
The UN is pushiing this hard right now and telling people to verify and report anything that they suspect is disinformation. Verify - coincidentally the name of the "disinformation unit" led by the BBC's own Mariana Spring. aka Witchfinder General.
Its not just the banks either. Anyone remember PayPal changing their policy so that they can suspend accounts of anyone posting "misinformation"
We're fools if we fall into thinking of this as a left vs right situation. Thats just a distraction from the dystopian hell that they are trying to force us into with Digital ID and Central Banking Digital Currency.
Use Cash whenever you can everyone and don't comply. Just a little way to stick it to the man.
Sadly, that includes Saints, who went cashless. So I no longer spend money at the ground on match days. |

The talk (I think in the Echo?) was that we had sold at least as many season tickets as last year - so assuming that is true - maybe they just want to use the match to get a bit more exposure / takes steps to fill the ground.

Totally agree with these concerns but we are definitely a bit stuck until we get players out of the door. Our unbalanced, bloated squad almost makes it impossible to know where to strengthen if sales don't happen as expected. Apart from at Left Back of course
At least if no one is going to Spurs, we might get exit deals done before the last minute of the transfer window
Lets hope SR don't buy more players for positions where we are overloaded again or that don't fit into Rusty's strategy |
