It's not all Monks fault. 15:43 - Mar 24 with 5573 viewstrolley_jack

Monk as been in charge for 6 league games 3 Home 3 Away we have scored 11 goals but we have conceded 11 goals W1 D2 L3 but only lost by a single goal each time although a loss is a loss all the same, In the last 6 league games Laudrup had at the helm we played 3 Home 3 Away scored 7 and conceded 11 W1 D1 L4 losing 3 times by 2 goals.

I know this proves little but I think some people on here need to lay of Monk and get behind the team hopefully he will learn from his mistakes and we will be a stronger team in the coming games we can all help with a vocal support and not muttering in the stands of how poor a appointment Monk is. He is our manager till the end of the season so lets get behind him and the team ffs.

It's not all Monks fault. on 20:32 - Mar 24 by Spratty

The thing is we need to get back to winning ways

We have dropped from achieving 96% of last season's like for like PL games points total pre Monk to 50% post Monk
Or looking at this season's reverse fixtures we achieved 8 points compared to 5 now

We have now gone 8 games without winning - the most all season.

Before that the most was 7 even at the height of fixtures (9 games from 1st Dec to 1st Jan) and during that period our losses were to Man City away and home, Chelsea and Everton. Only City away was lost by more than 1 goal. All whilst dealing with major key injuries and keeping in the cups.

Of course it's not Monks fault he didn't appoint himself. But this was not a time to have someone so inexperienced as you say hopefully learning from his mistakes.

We are obviously all right behind the team (with all due respect to the odd Dane who rightfully may feel we have P1ssed upon their national treasure and deserve all we get - but sadly I think most would not even be that petty). If we can get something from tomorrow's game that would be brilliant, not least for those of us at the game. We know our team are capable and any positive result would take some pressure off the game on Sat.

That is a compelling statistical analysis by Spratty, he stated "We have now gone 8 games without winning - the most all season." and "
Before that the most was 7 even at the height of fixtures" and what he says is completely correct, but does it show the whole story of our performances.
Personally I do not think so, those runs of results both include games in 2 cups as well the League.
What does it look like if you only take League results, which to me are much more relevent to our current position.
Well let's compare some periods

Between 08/02/2014 and now we had

6 Games 1 Win 2 Draws 3 losses

Between 09/12/2013 and 19/01/2014 we had

10 Games 1 Win 3 Draws 6 losses

Of course some of those games were against top sides, so what about another period, how about

Between 09/03/2013 and 19/05/02013 we had

10 Games 1 Win 3 Draws 6 losses

The only win in that period was against Wigan, remember them, they used to be in the Prem too.

Some people have suggested that this season we have not played anywhere near as well as last season and have had nowhere near as many clean sheets.
So let's take a look

Last season

38 Games 47 goals for 51 against 10 clean sheets (26.3%) for 46pts that is
1.24 goals/game for and 1.34 goals against

This season

30 Games 40 goals for 46 against 7 clean sheets (23.3%) for 29pts that is
1.05 goals/game for and 1.21 goals against

So last season we had both more goals/game for and against

What did we get under GM

6 Games 11 goals for 11 against 1 clean sheet (16.7%)
1.83 goals/game for and 1.83 goals against which is even more goals/game for both for & against

But what does it look like if we take out Michu's goals, just leaving the rest of the player's, then we get

Last season

38 Games 29 goals for 51 against 10 clean sheets (26.3%) for 46pts that is
0.76 goals/game for and 1.34 goals against

This season

30 Games 38 goals for 46 against 7 clean sheets (23.3%) for 29pts that is
1.00 goals/game for and 1.21 goals against.

Of course that is not really fair, as if Michu had not really played other players would have contributed a few goals.
However it does show Michu's influence that has been missing this year.

Spratty is also right when he says "The thing is we need to get back to winning ways "

Yup, take away Michu's goal's from last season than add Bony's from this season, and you are left with a load of tosh presented in an utterly incomprehensible manner.

I hope you have spent a great deal of time on this AFD.

Bwaaaahahahaahaha.
