As we clear the decks of high earners, sneak at what our potential rivals are up to. Suprised with only 5 weeks to go not been that much activity, but perhaps waiting for the PL cast offs to be available to buy / loan.
Most active. Stoke, Boro, Forest all adding several quality signings to compete at top end.
Selling. West Brom, Villa, Sheff Utd, Bristol, Norwich, Ipswich, Hull and QPR all selling / releasing star players to balance the books. Reading medics will be busy with Yaildom and O'Shea replacing Moore.
Noise. Derby, Brum and Leeds promising to support new (ish) managers but not much activity yet.

Stoke are favourite to win the league. Allen signed a new deal,got themselves a prolific striker in Afobe, good AMF in Etebo and they're still in the market.
Boro under Pulis also seem like a good bet to go up. McNair and Flint are good signings. Although I suspect Gibson to leave to balance the books.
WBA seem to be in a bit of trouble. they lost Evans,Yacob,McAuley for 3 m. Failed to get Bobby Reid (he's going to Cardiff) and they seem to have a weaker squad by the minute.
Aston Villa are in the sh!t. They have to keep selling for now,Grealish,Chester are both going.
Norwich have around 30 m or so to spend after selling Maddison and Murphy. With the right signings they might have a decent campaign.
Nottingham are going through a Portuguese revolution. many young,pacy wingers are joining. They're going after the Wolverhampton experience.
Leeds are all rumour after rumour without any substance so far, Bartley,Abel Hernandez and others but so far it's only noise.
Derby seem to be in trouble if they're willing to sell Vydra for 11 m.
Britsol are selling their best players..tough season ahead.
Hull seem to be in trouble as well. many players leaving for free. not much cash. Although they have some impressive players going forward.
Sheffield Wednesday seem to be dormant.
Reading..Well let's just say Paul Clement has a hard mission ahead of him. Signing useless freebies. poised to lose quality players like Moore.
As for Swansea..we've done f*ck all so far. We'll wait and see. |  |

Well..yeah.
McNair is a good championship signing. it's just..Sunderland can't motivate any of their players to play their best..Everyone wanted out immediately. Now he'll get a fresh start at Boro in an important campaign.
I will repeat..Do not overestimate the quality of the championship. strikers like Mitrovic,McBurnie,Vydra and Gayle can't even score 5 goals starting every game in the PL probably. But they're considered gold at a championship level.

If he feels like he's playing below his level he gets offended and stupid like a donkey who refuses to cross a bridge.
But if Potter convinces him to stay..If Jordan's heart is in it (his heart if he had any,it wasn't with Villa at the time,so he played sh!t and forced an exit in January)..he'll do great for us in the championship. I'm talking +15 goals. | |

Better summary than mine! No guarantees decent signings equate to success but seems 3/4 clubs seriously investing in squads. Clock ticking for us but don't expect much until the scramble for PL loanees and free transfers starts. | | | |
