Every Newport thread goes the same way in here. There’s a bunch of people who enjoy seeing the little, ugly cousin from down the road bloodying one of the big team’s noses once in a while, then there’s at least two naysayers, with the inevitable mention of the FA Cup game at Spytty.
If it’s any consolation that wasn’t a normal Newport crowd in 2006. All the middle-aged arseholes from Ringland brushed off their double denim and came along to the game looking to be a part of some seventies throwback. A county fan nobbled the lino with a 50p, Beadle had that meltdown, then da boys climbed the gates in order to dash around to the away end and lob rocks then scarpering back to Ringland before the away fans emerged.
It was a day when County’s (dubious anyway) reputation took quite a battering.
Newport hasn’t got a lot going for it, but there’s plenty of decent people who follow the County.

Those Neanderthal thugs which we also have in our fan base too don’t forget, don’t have any influence on any respectable decent fans.
