I arranged to buy 2 tickets from someone off here. He said to meet between the players entrance and the trust booth 2.30pm. He would be with his grandson and he was bald, him not the grandson.
Anyway, we're in the queue in Rossi's and he rings me again to say that he has arrived a bit earlier than discussed. He also tells me again that he is bald, this must be the 4th or 5th time he's mentioned this.
So we go across to meet him and I see this guy waiting with a young boy. It was a cold day though and the guy has a big russian type hat on, pulled down to keep the cold out. How can I tell if he has a full head of hair or not ? I cannot do anything straight forward and go up to him and say "can you just lift your hat so I can see if you're bald or not".
He gently raises his hat and he is indeed bald.
"Hello Mike, I've come to buy the tickets off you"
""My name's not Mike, what tickets ? I'm just waiting to meet my son".
Fair do's, he took it well. My Mike was waiting just around the corner. |  |
