Wales have added a few destinations to the list that England don't have and if you return from one after 4am on Friday, you have to self isolate for 14 days.
Now how do they know if you've returned if you fly back in to Bristol or any other English airport?

Its fairly obvious why and this is nothing to do with increased testing. Look at the photos from outside Coyote Ugly in Cardiff on the weekend. Total lack of social distancing. Go on a bus. Youngsters and also older ones go on the bus with a mask then take them off. What is the point of that. I was on a bus last week. 6 of us upstairs and I was the only one wearing a mask properly. One older guy had the mask under his chin and the younsters took them off once they got on the bus.
Until people follow basic rules we will have problems and could well end back in lockdown. We were doing really well and the figures were very low. The stupidly we had cases of people being left in from abroad with the virus and then it circulates. Same with opening pubs especially the city centre bars.
Despite you and others criticising the Senydd today England has followed our approach over the Greek Islands which they should have done last week on a united front as well as Portugal which unfortunately they have not done for political reasons. |

Take Maesteg a load of people came back with the infection from abroad but decided to drinking in Maesteg. They then passed it on. Because of those action the school has got someone there with the virus and this is typical of other places. | | | |

Our testing months ago was shambolic, we now have a much better approach to testing. It’s my perfect, but it’s better. The young will spread it to the older population, a proportion of who will become very ill and sadly some will die. It’s whats happened here and in Europe. | | | |

Perhaps we should have tigher rules for the under 30s. Only allow them to go to work, shopping college. Ban them from pubs, clubs, raves and drinking plus a night time curfew.

The decision on portugal was not political in the UK it was made on full scientific data, although the rate per 100,000 was just over 20 this was partially due to increased testing. The actual percentage of people testing positive in Portugal fell from 1.8% to 1.6% .
The only reason Wales imposed quarantine on people returning from Portugal was to be politically different .
It makes no sense for each of the countries to keep making different decisions. It is about time the decision were made on scientific data and representations from each country could sit on the committee to decide. All four countries should then abide by that decision. | |

firstly to allow time to make arrangements. Authorities will need to get staff in place and get organised.
The places abroad have led to cases being brought back here. 30 in a week from Zante to Wales alone. Portugal up to last Wednesday had 23 cases per 100,000 compared to Wales 7.The places you cannot travel to have higher figures than here. FACT.
I dont know what you mean about the nonsensical wearing of masks. I assume you mean the different rules between Wales and England but that is down to different countries making decisions. It is also a case that the rates in England have been higher in England than here. 2 weeks or so ago we were averaging 15 new cases a day so there was very little to spread. England were not in that position.
However that has now changed and the increase has been fuelled by cases brought in from abroad, opening of pubs and bars and failure of people mainly the young to socially distance. The combined results of these actions have led to huge increases from 51 to 77, 98 and 133 in consecutive days. This has been brought about because people came back from Zante with the virus then visited pubs and bars. This spread the virus to more people and is what you see today. People not following basic rules to socially distance perhaps because like you the figures are made up.
Portugal as of last Wednesday had double the UK rate and triple the Welsh rate at the time and also a far higher rate than Zante from where 30 people had come back infected in a week, [Post edited 8 Sep 2020 9:44]

Tories under pressure over U turns. There has been 12 of them. They had made a decision to bring Portugal into the Air Bridges scheme. This was due to take places last Friday. Imagine how it would have looked had they removed Portugal from the list on the day they were meant to go on it. Hence the decision was made for political reasons and the announcement on Greek Islands was put off until today. | | | |
