| Fulton on 09:21 - Nov 26 by builthjack | It's up to Fulton to show in training what he can do. If he doesn't do it then he will be off in January. |
Martin the R, is clearly missing a trick. by not utilising Fulton, he's obviously not taking notice of video's of his previous games for SCFC, more fool him.

| Fulton on 23:15 - Nov 26 by YouBackJastard | Your qualms with him are - - Poor set piece taker (not his fault we have no one better) - One footed (fair, but it’s never really been a problem) - Doesn’t score goals (why would you care about goal output from a defensive midfielder?) You are actively ignoring his - - Defensive contributions (statistically best in the league at tackling one year) - Immense fitness (rarely runs out of stamina despite being available every single game in one of the hardest roles to play from an energy perspective) - Passing ability (Fantastic pass accuracy whether it’s the simple five yard passes or switching play across the field to a wingback) - Leadership qualities (Club captain for years, which Martin didn’t change when he came in) Your point on Fulham not wanting him is factually incorrect as Stuart James reported at the time that we turned Fulham’s several bids down due to the fact they were far too low rather than the bids not existing at all. I have zero idea what you are talking about with Cooper. He wants Fulton because he’s in the shop window. Matt Grimes isn’t. Awful point. |
Ok - stamina? Didn’t run much today. Passing - sideways and backwards. No attacking intent at all! He had a chance to show his defensive contribution today but after losing the ball in the first place He could have slid in to block the shot for the first goal. No ambition to get stuck in at all. He’s the captain and if Potter made a dreadful mistake there. Fulham offered peanuts because that’s how much the valued him. We paid a million and a half for Downes from league one and look how much more of a competitor he is. A real warrior with tremendous passing accuracy- he’s made a big step up and looks absolutely like he belongs. Grimes has captained a good championship team for 3 years and Fulham didn’t even rate him at a million?

| Fulton on 23:06 - Nov 26 by Brynmill_Jack | Your blind spot (and not just yours) baffles me. I’ve watched Grimes for 3 seasons now and he can’t take a corner, can’t take a free kick, is more one footed than long John silver and doesn’t score goals. There are many footballers who pass five yards for a living - it doesn’t make them good or influential players. Grimes wasn’t wanted by Fulham and only signed a new contract with us because nobody wants him. Not even Cooper who made him captain ! He’d rather take Fulton and I can see why (even if you can’t). |
My gripe with Grimes is he instinctively passes backwards. He created their first goal today with a totally unnecessary back pass which was intercepted. He had loads of space to go forward but he instinctively sent it backwards. Not the first time either. Oh and I agree with all that as well. [Post edited 27 Nov 2021 22:26]
