| Swansea City the best supported and biggest football team in Wales on 15:52 - Dec 9 with 566 views | LittleEnglandJack | Great article Keith, spot on. We're the biggest Welsh football team nowadays, FACT. Seven years of premier league exposure means we have a genuinely global fanbase. There are plenty of people out there, especially younger football fans and foreign audiences, who see us as a fallen premier league team rather than a club that has spent most of its history knocking around the 2nd and 3rd divisions. We have 11 officially recognised international supporters clubs, how many do Cardiff have? A club's size isn't all about it's international reach of cause, but when you combine it with our dominance domestically too... Not sure about the bit about Martinez guiding Belgium to be the World's 'most successful' team mind! He's guided them to the top of the rankings, but they've been famously unsuccessful in their golden era... | | | |

Going off slightly at a tangent, being a Swans fan since 1957,hating Cardiff goes with the territory. I played squash regularly at our local club against a Cardiff emigre who was a great bloke but we agreed we hated the respective clubs. That s fair enough. The games were tight and feisty and we needed a Marker from one of the leagues to maintain some sort of order as it got heated every game When we were playing in competitions members came and watched in the seating area if we had the Glass backed court . O n a POSITIVE note,it seems international fans now seem to tolerate the clubs who are bitter rivals on the field. | |
