Yeah, all the skill and flair has been trained and coached out. its become about routines, going through phases, rinse and repeat the same thing over and over.
The days of Edwards and Bennett, JJ and JPR are long gone and now we have robots, machines, wonderful physiques capable of handing out AND taking a battering but who stopped thinking and doing something different years back.
Whatever the sport, we all love a maverick, someone who can and WILL do something different, something unexpected, the Cantona's and Le Tissiers, the Bennetts and barry Johns. We used to call it entertainment. | |
