Not sure where this is going but I'll humour you , it is said Bethlehem although there's no concrete proof of this or of his existence although that's not surprising as if he did indeed exist and the rest of the story is true then his "humble" way of life may have meant he left no physical impact on his environs

You said "If no one knows when he was born than how do they know he truly existed" sic, well nobody knows the exact year of Jesus birth but we know he existed. Kinda shoots down your logic.

| NHS gets 4 George Crosses on 11:20 - Jul 13 by Boundy | If no one knows when he was born than how do they know he truly existed and by using logic where he was born , you seem slightly perturbed that somebody should question his authenticity . What's your opinion of King Arthur , I'm not saying he and St David didn't exist but maybe not as we've been led to believe . by the way I do enjoy reading history and the lives of historical figures but some are just that , stories based on tenuous links of factual events |
The same reason why all bishops can be traced back - dates of birth consecration and death for all of them - Apostolic succession. St David’s consecration (as Archbishop of Menevia) is written down in the place it happened - Jerusalem (under patriarch John the 3rd). Bede of Jarrow was also a church historian but every diocese has these records to make sure the Apostolic line is never broken. It’s also why we know so much of the early church (post Apostles to Nivea and beyond). It’s just silly atheists that pretend people like St David never existed especially those who have no grasp of the church and it’s nature and customs.

Never mind, I bet they really appreciated everyone going on the front doorstep and banging saucepans with wooden spoons every week while they were risking their lives during the pandemic. What a nation we are!
