Of course, but final salary pensions are indefensible. The likes of Felix is a Tory's dream because all they care about is themselves in the now. They're selfish attitude has caused pain for generations of young people yet to even be born.

Better we pyss it away against the wall rather than invest to provide for a future old age free of government handouts.

I mean the barsteards . Thoe types the ones that pay for care homes fees however.

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Why are final pension schemes indefensible? People who put part of their wages into a company pension scheme every month for 40 years as well as the company contributing. This ensures on retirement People are self financing and not a burden on the state.

What was indefensible was the civil servants and other government pensions schemes where employees made no contributions at all to scheme and it was fully funded by the taxpayers.

Fortunately most government schemes are now contributory schemes where employees pay in. Although most employess were given a pay rise equivalent to the amount they are reqrequired to pay in.

What is indefensible is People who choose to join any pension scheme who expect the Taxpayers to fund their retirement.

Poll: Sholud Wales rollout vaccination at full speed.

What's wrong with taxpayers funding retirement, they will get it back when they retire.

Taxpayers funding retirement is bad, but bailing out failing companies and banks is good. Seems a bit hypocritical to me.
