Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
You had to be there,in the 60s. Rockers were seen as retarded musically and played music their dads played. Mods music was triffic I was big fan of Stevie Marriott and the Faces

And even before that the original small faces. My first experience of Ska as it was referred to even back in 1960 was in early 70’s with Dekker, Toots and the Mattel’s, Lee Perry skalites it goes on. Turned on to this by my cousin initially.
The black skinhead movement which floated in on the windrush in 1957 is a mystery to most, young black men with pork pie hats ( where they kept their food for the working day. Braces holding up their trousers, and work boots. Some of the pictures from the late 50’s early 60’s could be any of the bands that made skinhead music famous and was continued on to today.

The original skinhead movement in the early / mid sixties was possible the most cultural diverse youth society it had ever been a mixture of youth culture and music but sadly taken over by racists fascists and the ignorant .I must admit being one but living in Swansea we were always about 2/3 years behind London ( not a bad thing for sometimes) certainly when it evolved into being a suedehead was much more my style, the clothing the music etc wasn't so confrontational

You are referring to the press darlings ( the right wing skinhead ) who undermine what today remains in the majority an inclusive and safe movement. The SHARP culture ( skinheads against racial prejudice ) was forwarded in the uk, Cardiff specifically and these extreme skinheads are most certainly not welcome anywhere. In fact they are referred to as boneheads, very appropriate. The strong links between the punk and skinhead movement remains today and is very positive. The biggest underground movement in the world with festival and record sales far higher than mainstream music ðŸ‘
