Why the owners though?
They seem to have backed him more than any other manager I can remember. If you combine comparative finances made available and support during tough times, then it’s unrivalled.
No manager is allowed an open cheque book as Cooper found out in that fateful January. We aren’t a club that can do that.
We just have to hope that the ones we bring in that we deem as sustainable are fit for purpose and not crocked loans on their offseason. |
I have read the diatribes a couple of times and still see no real reason for explosion of bile.
It seems some fans want money we don’t have spent on players who probably don’t want to come here and who Martin may or may not play to retain the services of a manager who has never been particularly popular and whose playing style is routinely criticised.
To me it looks like someone has decided to open a new front on the attack on the American consortium and the usual suspects are joining in.
I would have thought anyone who lived through the Toshack and immediate post Toshack period would understand the stupidity of letting finances run out of control!
We only have rumours as to which players Martin specifically requested but if true his record of spotting quality has been less than impressive. It is fitting that Winter takes a very conservative approach to the transfer situation. |  |

The truth is, It’s caused so much friction because the answer of them isn’t palatable to what many would like to be the case, but it was the obvious answer.

It's a football forum we have had a mixed 18 months surely it can be discussed without friction.
There is no doubt that there are plenty who are not impressed with Russ.
