Don’t disagree he may well do, but that story contained absolutely nothing in reality and certain tricksters sniffing an easy buck are all over it. Speaking to a mate tonight he reckons I that Piroe is no better than Jordan Rhodes and nothing on Pukki when he was in the championship first time around with Norwich, Does he have a point ?

He was happy there He was dramatically brought back apparently to be sold to Rangers but owners decided not to making a profit on him in doing so. Fans then would assume Whittaker having developed would have gone straight back into our team but now. He is in exactly the same place now as he was prior to his loan ,ie bench material. I read he doesn’t look interested. Hard to judge really from the odd 5/10 minute cameo . In my opinion, his treatment shows what Russ is really like and it’s not the avuncular chap some worship. It’s why he is exactly the wrong man for our club . It is very very unsettling with his acolytes swooning at every opportunity when in fact we are going nowhere . |
Apart from displaying an upturn in form and a real understanding at last of the team system ? Of course that’s nothing to do with the head coach. It’s just happened. When you realise there’s no worship from anyone just a realistic assessment of where we are at this point and further realism that any club owner would be foolish to start sacking all and sundry when after two years the benefits could bear fruit. You moan about wasting time and money when really that’s all you want, to sack everyone and leave the club in limbo hoping someone else might achieve something. The only thing to be revered is the style of football and the players who are now adapting to it. Nothing to do with personal like or dislike of an individual. That seems to be your personal choice aiming shots at individuals. That is short sighted, destructive and pointless. Alex Ferguson is the best example.

You need to have a good set up in place in regards the route to buy and sell at a profit and use a % to recycle and repeat the process......the owners have struggled in getting the foundation in place to do this. There are clubs out there who have done this successfully including ourselves, when we were doing this then we had a solid foundation and even the yanks benefited from the work done at academy level prior to their arrival. As I said, these things work but you need to be proactive and have a plan in place to create a solid foundation to work from. |
I know the need for the 8m was there and more or less an either Downes or Piroe option. We have in the past been lucky to have cut price ex top class pro under Tosh to aid the building of the team of good youngsters and in latter years a meteoric rise through the divisions built on the resue by Flynn, the solid team assembled by Jackett who promotion made us an attractive option for players and Managers alike. We have tumbled from the top flight had to drastically cut our cloth to suit our income and are trying to rebuild after the failure to return to the top flight quickly. Will the next transfer window be Whittaker, Ntcham or the thread topic Piroe to go or can we attract players to come in or in Mannings case stay? [Post edited 14 Apr 2023 9:40]

Hopefully have a clearer picture in the next week or so and hopefully with people in the building that are more proactive and wanting to make things happen.
