Russell Martin welcome next season on 22:36 - Jun 24 by SullutaCreturned
No, Reading got more points than Cardiff but off field matters saw a deduction that relegated them.
Cardiff did get beaten twice by us, in purely football terms cardiff were worse than reading and it had many of their fans tearing their hair out.
OK, let's start again, you posted " beat a side who would have been relegated if others hadn’t been deducted points is his legacy ". Let's for argument sake give reading their 6 points back, they now have 50 points. Cardiff have 49, so Cardiff are relegated instead. BUT, if Cardiff had picked up 1 point over both our games, they would have also finished on 50 points, but with a better goal difference they would've stayed up. So, once again, we didn't beat a side that would've been relegated, because, if we didn't beat them twice, they would've got at least a point, which would've been enough to avoid relegation whether Reading got a 6 point deduction or not. 🤔

No,let’s start again . Beginning with Michael Duff. All what happened before should be eradicated from our brains. It was what is was. Mindless exhibitionism.

And thats why, along with other losses they finished on 49 points. The post earlier implied, that we done the double over a side who would have been relegated if others hadn’t been deducted points. My point is that, if we hadn't beaten them, then they would've picked up at least a point. For example, in our last meeting, up until the 9th minute of injury time they looked like taking a point from the game, that point would've meant, at the end of the season, they would have had 50 points, ( then up steps Ben ) So its because of the double they were left on 49 points, so again, we didn't beat a team who would've been relegated, us beating them, helped put them in that position. Below is the line from the original post I was replying to.

At end of the season reading had 44pts and cardiff 49pts, if reading didn't have the 6 pts deduction they would have stayed up at cardiffs expense, it's as simple as that.
You can't go round saying if this had happened or that had happened, its what table finished is what counts.

You completely miss the point, I said they were useless and you seemed to suggest they weren't. We beat them twice, they were blooming nearly relegated which is evidence that they are hardly worldbeaters. Reading went down because of their owners breaking rues, on the pitch Reading got more points than Cardiff.
Cardiff WERE useless last season but they got lucky. We beat them twice, AGAIN, because they were really poor and we were hardly worldbeaters either.

What are you on, cat is on about the end of the season, not when we played them at their gaff.
Ateotd they would have been relegated if reading didn't have 6 pts deducted and we beat them twice, it's down in black and white.

Yeah, my post was 100% accurate, Cardiff would have been relegated if Reading hadn't been deducted points.
Maybe I should have been more positive about things and said "if only we'd won 4 more points we'd have been in the play offs"....oh wait.....no, I give up.
It seems that black is white.

It’s all this positive stuff. Ultimately deceiving ,so it is.You need both plosive and negative. Basic physics .

With almost 50% looking to “ abuse” him,one has to wonder as to why his support was so “ strong”.
Because more than 50% don't want to abuse him. It's what's commonly known as a "majority".
That's basically how percentages work.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I totally agree that they were useless, but the point I'm trying very hard to make, is that until Ben scored our late winner, they looked like picking up a point, that point would have been enough for them to finish above Reading, even taking the 6 point deduction into account. I have nowhere indicated that they weren't useless, my original reply to Pencoedjack, who posted in the " Martin gone - official " thread, " beat a side who would've been relegated if others hadn’t been deducted points ". I'm only pointing out that, without us doing the double again, they would not have been relegated, ( along with their other losses naturally) even with Reading's point deduction. So I view our doing the double as an achievement, even if it was against a useless team.

This is what you said to me.....
It's the, useless team, they were down to 10 men, when we win games, it's the negativity around certain results, we can only play the team on the pitch, we used to get this a lot from TV presenters when we beat top teams, the opposition never showed up, they were down to 10 men, they were poor today, give credit where it's due. We done the double doube, irrespective of how useless they were, or where they finished in the league.

Reading cheated and paid a legitimate penalty. The point is Reading would have been relegated anyway without the 6 point penalty without the signing they were not allowed to make. They were only out of the bottom three because they cheated.
