Imagine if it was Swansea, Cardiff and one other in Wales, the ante Welsh on here would be all over it like a cheap suit.

| Birmingham City Council. on 00:44 - Sep 6 by Robbie | Speaking on a smaller scale regarding finance , really wish Neath / Port Talbot Council would put some of my hard earned pennies , gained via my horrendous rate fees into cleaning up Neath Town centre , especially by the Train Station . Looks like I now pay a charge for local policing per annum , never seen a bobby on the beat in my area ever , Special Constables do pop up every now and again , what can they do . Questions must be asked over the purse holders in these organisations doing the right thing and awarding sevice contracts to reliable tenders too . Visit Birmingham for shows in their various venues , enjoy my times there . Might not be related to their current issues but they staged the Commonwealth Games recently , other Countries are now having second thoughts of hosting this event . [Post edited 6 Sep 2023 0:55]

I am one of an army of litter pickers. Mostly retired bored people who like to see the place spick and span. It takes one hour a week and keeps me moving. Too hot at the moment. Nice well groomed streets in affluent areas will be seen as the Council spending more time on them. The truth is more affluent people take more care of their surroundings. The takeaway shops should put a supplement on their sales and clean up the environment themselves with in the easting a dropping radius of say 500m. The litterers that way will pay not the hard pressed rate payer.

The truth is councils do spend more money on the so called nicer areas. Mumbles always got a decent looking after while the Sandfields was full of litter. In the genuinely affluent areas the rich people pay others to do their cleaning up. I believe there is a system in place to encourage shops to have their customers be tidier or to clean up after them. I thinkSwansea council has fined Maccy D's before now.
